Military parade in Tbilisi begins with minute of silence in honor of Lech Kaczynski - 26.05.2010

A military parade in honor of Independence Day of Georgia ended on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. The parade was held in front of Parliament, where platforms for representatives of the country's leadership and distinguished guests were placed.

The parade was opened with a moment of silence in honor of the Polish President Lech Kaczynski died as a result of air crash.

Anthem of the Georgian was performed by participants of the television show "Nichieri" ("Talents") 14-year-old Mariam Kahelishvili.

The Georgian President took the parade as Commander in Chief of the country.

The military parade on the Rustaveli Avenue was attended 4, 325 infantryman, 117 military vehicles and 18 aircraft and helicopters.

After the march of infantrymen on Rustaveli Avenue was demonstrated armored vehicles - Humvee, Cobra, armored personnel carriers - BTR-80, EDJER, artillery unit, artillery systems Msta-B, Geocint, RM-70, GRADLAR, DANA. Military parade was ended by demonstration of aircraft - helicopters UH1-1H, MI-8 assault helicopters - MI-24, assault aircraft - SU-25.

Before the parade, the Georgian President addressed with a speech and awarded a group of the individuals Vakhtang Gorgasali Order , Presidential Order and the Order of Queen Tamar.
