Ukrainian Volunteer Defense Force "Donbas"
8 tuntia sitten
The first encounter with terrorists near Karlovka has become a turning point for Defense Force “Donbas”: first losses, first serious shock.
Fighter with call-sign “Khimik” (Chemist) is one of the heroes of the May battle; it was a point of honour for him to come back to that battlefield.
That’s what Khimik tells about the second battle:
“The first time DFD ran into terrorist ambush. The second time we were the ones dictating our terms.
It was reconnaissance by fire. We attacked mightily, performed well and organized retreat professionally.
We fulfilled the task completely. The reconnaissance by fire was successful mostly due to the perfect coordination.
I was reconnoitering, conveyed the information to the second-in-command of the first attack company and he was adjusting artillery fire.
We managed to destroy a snipers nest and burn down one armored vehicle in combat; we adjusted fire of 120 mm mortar battery directing it to the greenery between Karlovka and holiday village, after the artillery attack we advanced to the greenery by 100 meters. At that moment the survived terrorists who managed to regroup opened fire on us.
One of our fighters, call-sign Makha, and his second string, call-sign “Sirius” adjusted artillery fire by shooting tracer bullets at the counterattacking terrorists, so the enemy was forced to fall back to the original position.
Our retreat was covered by artillery; splinters from shell explosions flew in the radius of 400-450 meters. Due to the artillery cover we managed to retreat without any losses or serious wounds”
We would like to remind you that Khimik’s son also serves in “Donbas”. He can not wait to get into action. He had already asked the second in command of DFD to send him to the front line 5 times. The son is 21.
“I was given an automatic gun when I was 19. My son has made his choice as well. He is a man who wants to protect his country” – says Khimik.
We are proud that such courageous people serve in “Donbas”, protect Ukrainian state and do everything possible to bring our Victory closer.
P.S. Khimik is with DFD from the very first day. He was wounded in the battle near Karlovka on May, 23. It took him 24 hours to break through the encirclement. He did break through. He came back to service.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!
