Ukrainan konflikti/sota

Ihmetyttää niiden halu valloittaa uusia alueita kun suuri osa entisestäkin valtakunnasta on ihan rempallaan, nämä köyhät reuna-alueet joilta väkeä tuonne sotimaan haalitaan.

"in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions - from mortars, barrel and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Dvorichna, Kupyansk, Kucherivka, Kislivka, Berestove, Dvorichne, Hrekivka, Zarichne, Ivanivka, Kotlyarivka, Makiivka, Nadiya, Nevske, Yampolivka and Terny;"
Näin on.

These areas where Russia is “counter attacking” in Svatove are not areas that Ukraine controlled in the first place. It was gray areas. Don’t act like Russia is “taking ground” or whatever. It was ground nobody was in, on either side, outside of maybe some recon or something.

However, at the same time, Ukraine is actually taking Russian positions. Their advance has not stopped. It just isn’t talked about as much, and when it is talked about it is with delay or (as I do now) without detail of exact location for opsec. Pictures/videos will come.

The advance is slow for two reasons. 1: the defender has the advantage of elevation 2: clearing out forest strips is slow and dangerous. There are many places to hide, potential for traps, etc. Clearing out these areas takes time and there is no shortcut.

Also, this idea that Russia pushed Ukraine about of Makiivka, etc. Ukraine wasn’t there to begin with. This is standard misinformation. They take events that happen over a long period of time and pretend they all happened at the same time to make it sound like some great success.

And regarding Makiivka, the other day I read a report of Ukraine shelling there, and I marked the shelling on my map. That was like 2 days ago.

Defence One uutisoi, että jenkkitiedustelun mukaan Pohjois-Korea toimittaa salassa merkittäviä määriä tykistöammuksia maailman toiseksi mahtavimmalle armeijalle.

New: North Korea is allegedly hiding artillery sent to Russia “by trying to make it appear as though they are being sent to countries in the Middle East or North Africa,” White House National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby told CNN Wednesday—though he did not offer evidence to back up the claim. “We will continue to monitor whether these shipments are received,” Kirby said in a phone call with reporters shortly after CNN’s reporting.

Sound familiar? “We had indications that Russians were reaching out to the North Koreans” about this artillery, Kirby said; and those allegations were first publicized in early September. What’s new is that now “we have seen indications that North Korea is covertly supplying artillery shells to Russia,” and those shells “are on the move,” according to Kirby.

“We’re not talking dozens here; it’s a significant number of artillery shells,” Kirby said in that call. “We don’t believe these shells are going to change the course of the war,” he said. But the wide range of “sanctions on [Russian leader Vladimir] Putin have had an effect on his industrial base,” apparently forcing him to resort to sources like North Korea and Iran to keep up his Ukraine invasion, which is now in its ninth month.
