To a first approximation, the terrible terrorist attack in Moscow does not at all look like a provocation of the Russian special services, it looks more like their colossal failure. Fantastic amounts of money are spent on “security,” but this security is not ensured in reality. They missed a large-scale and probably well-prepared terrorist attack. This is not a lone shooter, this is a whole large-scale operation. The attackers have not yet been found (will they be found?). The intelligence services are focused on political investigation and intimidation of citizens. They do not fulfill their direct responsibility to protect society from real threats.
In theory, this question should be raised by opposition politicians and independent journalists. Unfortunately, both of them do not have access to federal channels, where this could be said loudly enough. The security forces are inviolable because they are the support of the regime. Therefore, propaganda will try to use the tragedy for the next stage of unification “around the flag” - and, quite possibly, will succeed in this. Then, maybe, they will quietly fire some minor deputy of Bortnikov, but even that is not a fact.
