Voit olla oikeassa. Ihmeen hyvin ryssä sai hämättyä. Aika monelle se tuli yllätyksenä vaikka merkit oli selvät. Jää nähtäväksi miten käy.

Enemminkin sanoisin, että Jenkit ja Britit varoittelivat kovasti, mutta heitä ei haluttu uskoa. Uskottiin, ettei se ryssä sieltä tule ja kyseessä on vain harjoitukset. Nyt kun on nähty hyvinkin konkreettisesti, että autoritääriset valtiot toimivat ihan eri säännöillä, Kiinan hyökkäysvaroituksiin suhtauduttaisiin ihan eri lailla (tai ainakin näin sopii toivoa).

Taiwan ilmoitti tiistaina havainneensa saaren lähistöllä lentäneen poikkeuksellisen suuren määrän sotilaskoneita.

Kiinan on spekuloitu käynnistävän sotaharjoituksia vastauksena Taiwanin presidentin viime viikkoiseen Yhdysvaltain vierailuun. Kiinan ulkoministeriö varoitti Taiwania: ”itsenäisyyden tavoittelu Yhdysvaltojen avulla tulee väistämättä törmäämään muuriin". Kiinan ulkoministeriö kehotti Washingtonia lopettamaan sekaantumisen Taiwaniin liittyviin asioihin.

The #PLA is not only practicing a blockade of Taiwan, but also setting up a naval "wall" to blockade any foreign military help that could come from the US & Japan.

The PLA is de facto blockading much of the first island chain, from Japan to the Philippines.

This is as close as it comes to the real thing, and I certainly hope that it doesn't become the real thing.

Jännä. Nehän oli just Kiinan hypersooniset päristimet joiden piti tehdä isot pinta-alukset vanhanaikaisiksi.

Niin. Amerikan tukialusten piti olla pelkkä suupala uusille ohjuksille, joten olisi vain viisainta luovuttaa Taiwan suosiolla. Silti itse laittavat pelimerkkinsä pintalaivastoon, mitä isompi sen parempi. Olisiko samalla rahalla saanut tuhat kuljetusalusta joilla olisi voinut viedä 100 000 miestä salmen yli.

Idän ihmeen ainoa tarkoitus lienee olla tehdä aaltoja merellä.

Ihan yleinen puheenaihe oli silloin kun "hypersooninen" oli uusi taikasana paniikkilehdistössä. Esim.
