This happened back in 2010. The German crew of the MS Taipan were able to shut down the ship and safely barricade themselves away from the pirates while they called for help. The Dutch Naval frigate, Tromp, tracked down the vessel. The marines cleared the ship aggressively as the pirates were unable to threaten any hostages. All 10 pirates were detained, and the ship was able to complete its voyage. After all, great performance by Dutch Marines.
“The Dutch Ministery of Defence released a footage of a German merchant ship being rescued from pirates. On the video you see how a Unit Intervention Team from the Royal Dutch Marine Corps enters the ship, and arrest the pirates. All hostages were freed safely.”
