IED Destroyers: How the Third Assault Brigade Finds and Neutralizes Unexploded IEDs
Video of the work of the sapper fighters of the Engineering Reconnaissance Platoon of the Engineering Support Group of the Third Assault Division on neutralizing enemy IEDs. The sky is teeming with enemy “birds”, and the field is plowed over with explosions. The sapper team sets off in search of unexploded IEDs.

The group skillfully calculates the place where the IED fell from the scattered details: the fragments from the wing, like a signpost, indicate the correct direction for the search.

When the object is finally found, the team gets to work. The fighter attaches a charge of 1.2 kg of TNT. After attaching the explosives, there are exactly 5 minutes + 20-30 seconds to move to a safe distance.

The fighters dive into the landing, immediately after which a powerful explosion is heard. Next is the fixation of the explosion site and immediately after that the team sets off in search of the next IED.

This is the daily work of the sapper soldiers of the Engineering Reconnaissance Platoon of the Engineering Support Group. Another reminder of the effort and risk involved in clearing every meter of liberated land and clearing the area of dangers. See more details in the new video.

How To Protect Yourself From Enemy/Russian FPVs? New Ukrainian Anti-Drone Weapons
Russians use FPV Drones against journalists, against volunteers, against bus drivers, and against civilians. And of course, mainly against soldiers. So, what can you do to protect yourself against an FPV Drone? When these drones were first introduced, people started developing electronic warfare systems and other countermeasures. Russians introduced flying these drones on fiber optic cables, which is something we also do now. It became a really difficult task.

Today, we film with a Ukrainian company called Ptashka Systems, which has developed different ways to counter FPV Drones. One is a handheld web gun that works like a normal pistol. We’re going to test it live in action, and we’re going to show you how to shoot down an FPV Drone.

With Ukraine’s Peaky Blinders chasing Russian soldiers near Pokrovsk
The Kyiv Independent's Francis Farrell and Olena Zashko spent a day with one of Ukraine's most effective drone units, "Peaky Blinders," named after the British gang portrayed in a popular British TV show. Although they also employ FPV (first-person view) drones, the unit specializes in drone-dropped bombs and are consistently deployed to the hottest areas of the battlefield. As Russian forces continue to push across the front line, Peaky Blinders are tasked with stopping Russian assaults near the embattled city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast.

The drone "Fever" strikes deep into Russia: the war is already theirs / hromadske
Together with the crew of the GUR, which operates long-range drones "Feb", we are going on a special mission. Today, the GUR will work on strategic objects located on the territory of Russia. On site, we are immediately instructed on safety issues: as soon as an air raid warning signal sounds, we immediately stop work. We have less than a minute to hide in a shelter. We are shown several shelters, introduced to a combat medic who will provide first aid, and informed that if necessary, we will be taken to the hospital. We have never been given such clear instructions in all our time at the front. A wave of anxiety immediately overtakes me.

Long-range drones are a desirable target for the Russians, so the GUR always works quickly: they launch the drones and immediately leave their positions. Each such operation involves weeks of careful preparation, so military personnel with many years of service experience work on the tasks.

"Fever" was developed in October 2022. It was first launched on the territory of Russia in May 2023. Then it hit an oil depot in the village of Volga on the Taman Peninsula. This oil depot is located on the Black Sea coast. At that time, it was the only ready-made copy of "Fever" in the Defense Forces. Its use on an important facility on the territory of an aggressor country was an experiment to find out whether the drone could fulfill the task of hitting targets deep behind enemy lines. In the late summer of 2023, "Fever" flights became regular.

Details of its production, design and combat use still remain a secret and are not disclosed for security reasons.

How the "Fever" drone works - watch the hromadske video.
