Two young Arab-Israelis from Nazareth and Shefa-‘Amr were indicted today (Thursday) for attempting to join ISIS. 24-year-old Muhammad Abed al-Fatah of Nazareth is accused of contacting a foreign agent and supporting a terrorist organization and 35-year-old Ashraf Arbiai of Shefa-‘Amr is accused of a weapons charge and supporting a terrorist organization.
According to the indictment, al-Fatah searched the Internet for ISIS related material and talked with his friends about his support for the murderous terrorist organization and the possibility of him leaving Israel and to join the group in Syria.
The indictment also states that in April 2016, al-Fatah contacted Arbiai via Facebook. The two talked for several days and Arbiai gave al-Fatah his phone number so that the two could continue talking through WhatsApp.
