Turkish fighter planes attack ISIS in Syria
The Turkish attacked the terrorist organization with F-16s for the first time.
F-16 fighter planes attacked three ISIS targets this morning in Syria, announced the Prime Minister’s office in Ankara. According to the announcement, the attack was carried out in 13 minutes and the planes themselves did not cross the border between the two countries.
At this point there are no reports on what was the focus of the attacks and whether or not there were casualties among ISIS members. The attack comes after a Turkish soldier and an ISIS terrorist were killed in crossfire between the Turkish army and ISIS.
Today the Turkish police also reported the arrest of at least 100 suspects in ISIS activity in a raid in Istanbul. According to the reports, the wave of arrests was carried out backed by helicopters and special forces.
Yesterday it was reported that Turkey permitted the U.S. Air Force to use the country as a base to launch attacks against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. The permission came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on the phone with U.S. President Barack Obama.
