The Islamic State, or ISIS, has responded to critics who have questioned why its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is not actively supporting Hamas in fighting Israel.

After capturing vast swathes of Iraq and Syria, ISIS declared the regions under its control as a "Caliphate", or Islamic state, and appointed Baghdadi as "leader of the Muslims". While many jihadists celebrated the announcement, others - including Al Qaeda, which ISIS broke off from last year - have criticized the move for a variety of reasons.

Since the recent escalation between Israel and Islamist terrorists in Gaza, some of those critics have questioned why a self-declared "Caliphate" is not rushing to the aid of Muslims in the Hamas-controlled territory.

In a statement a spokesperson for the group, Nidal Nuseiri reaffirmed that conquering "Bayt el-Maqdis" (Jerusalem) and destroying the State of Israel is central to the group's "jihad", or holy war.

However, he pointed out that ISIS has been taking a systematic approach in its campaign, and outlined six specific stages it said needed to be fulfilled before taking on Israel.

Some of those "stages" - building a firm base for an Islamic state in Iraq, and using it as a springboard to wage war in Syria and Lebanon - have already been achieved. But he said a number of other criteria still needed to be fulfilled before challenging Israel directly.

Among them, Nuseiri said that the US - seen as Israel's greatest ally - needed to be weakened politically and economically via attacks on the American mainland, as well as US interests in Muslim countries. Additionally, the existing "Islamic State" needed to expand its borders to cover all of "Greater Syria" (which would include Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and possibly Gaza); such a state, he said, would then be in a position for a direct confrontation with Israel.

Et vissiin osaa googlata? Tai edes katsoa tämän ketjun aikaisempia viestejä, muistelen lähettäneeni muutaman linkin itsekin. Viimeisin taisi olla se tapaus, jossa filmiryhmä kuvasi hotellin ikkunasta, kun yksi porukka asetteli raketinheittimen hotellin viereen ja ampui sen. Luonnollisesti filmiä ei julkaistu ennen kuin ryhmä oli jo poistunut gazasta.

Noissa siviilien kuolemissa on se ongelma, että Hamas saattaa vääristellä tilastoja. Tässä linkissä ihan hyviä kysymyksiä.

Jenkkien pommitus tukee kuitenkin suoraan maajoukkoja = kurdeja. Sikäli erilainen asetelma. Ja ymmärtäisin jos Israel ei ole halukas vyöryttämään maavoimia Gazaan. Last week’s indictment of the alleged ringleaders of one of the most successful counterfeiting operations in US history offers a rare window into the US Secret Service’s far-reaching efforts to combat counterfeit currency.

The case centers around a counterfeit $100 bill that’s legendary in law enforcement circles. Known to agents as the “Russian-Israeli note,” it had stumped them since 1999, US Secret Service director Julia Pierson told Bloomberg, and the ring making it produced at least $77 million in fake notes, mostly $100 bills.

In 2012, the agency caught a lucky break at a title loan shop in Northern Virginia, where the fakes were detected shortly after being passed, Bloomberg reports. The bills led to an informant. Two years of surveillance and wiretaps led agents to Israel, and culminated in a series of raids and warrants in May and June that lead to the capture of 13 suspects, $2.5 million in seized bills, and a printing press in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The alleged ringleaders, Itzhak Loz, 46, and Ronin Fakiro, 45, were indicted last week.

Counterfeit currency is a surprisingly common and lucrative business, despite technological efforts to combat it. The US Secret Service recovered $156 million in counterfeit dollars and arrested 2,668 people for faking currency last year. The agency’s most recent annual report (PDF) discusses Project South America, where it oversaw operations in Colombia and Peru and seized more than $40 million in counterfeit currency. The service shut down 262 counterfeit manufacturing plants last year.

Still, this ring and the bills it produced are particularly impressive for their sophistication and longevity. The bills were so good that they were almost never caught at the point they were passed. Even after the US recently redesigned the $100 bill with a state-of-the-art 3D security ribbon, the counterfeiters had come close to replicating it, Bloomberg reports.

The counterfeiters were looking to ramp up production by moving printing into the United States proper. Agents were watching in February as a tractor trailer unloaded a printing press shipped from Israel into the New Jersey warehouse.

Niin. Tuosta olisi mahdollista linkata yhteyttä eräisiinkin ryhmittymiin, joiden maaimankatsomus ja uskonto on kabbalapohjainen. Onhan se melko sattuma tai ei. But the Netanyahu-Obama split has taken on a novel spin in that, only twice before, was Washington denied a say in an Israeli military campaign.
In 1956, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion teamed up with Egypt and France for an attack on Egypt behind the US’ back. In 1981, it was Menachem Begin who defied Washington when he ordered the successful bombardment of an Iraqi nuclear reactor near Baghdad.
So who are Israel’s allies for the Gaza operation?
Now it is Netanyahu’s turn to swim against the American tide. His actions have a more comprehensive impact than those of prime ministers’ past. Not only is he standing in opposition to the Obama administration’s ingrained policy of avoiding military force, he’s also working closely with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to counter the US Mid East policy departure that hinges on Obama’s understanding with Iran. This new Israel-Saudi-Egypt alliance has pushed US off the regional center stage and sidelined its efforts to bring the Gaza conflict to an end.
Why doesn’t’ Washington go for Egypt and Saudi Arabia?
For the US, crossing Saudi Arabia and Egypt is tricky. But publicly lambasting Netanyahu and Israel is par for the course. Viewed through this lens, the press “leak” to the Wall Street Journal on the blocked missile supply makes perfect sense.
At the same time, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt share the same beef against the administration for working closely with Iran. Obama’s cohorts in Baghdad are colluding with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei under the guise of battling the extremist Islamic State (IS, formerly IS) slashing its way through Iraq. The two powers plan to resolve Iraq’s crisis to their own benefit. To this end, Obama has granted Iran its rubber stamp and the status of a regional superpower - even before it inks a deal on a nuclear accord, which
Saudi Arabia and Israel, in particular, fear will turn out to be inimical to their strategic interests and national security.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia hit back by sending Sisi to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday August 12 in Sochi. They are inviting him to join the new alliance. It is too soon to say how far Netanyahu is willing to go in this direction.
Is Operation Protective Edge Over?
The answer is a resounding “no!” Netanyahu and his Defense Minister, Moshe Ya’alon, would be content to end the war. They've been trying to do this from the operation’s second day, July 8, but are finding that an exit strategy keeps on slipping ever further from their grasp. The two Israeli leaders got themselves into a mess by taking it for granted that they could reap the success of a war against terrorists with a deal at the negotiating table, so falling into the same error as Obama.
Thanks to these early missteps, the fighting is sliding into an on-again, off-again war of attrition, with scattered occasional rocket fire from Gaza and Israeli reprisals. We haven’t yet seen the end of this war, and it will change form as time goes on.
Meanwhile, Thursday, 500 trucks loaded with food, medicines and other essentials rolled through the Kerem Shalom crossing into the Gaza Strip, continuing the supplies that never faltered in the course of the month-long IDF operation. This fits the general ambivalence of the Netanyahu government’s style of warfare.
Another round of talks has been scheduled to take place in Cairo next week.
When is a red alert the real thing?
This week saw three grades of rocket alert: Red Alert, False Alarm and No Alert. We propose this key to set minds at rest within the radius of Hamas rockets: The first signifies an authentic rocket attack in response to which everyone should take shelter; the second attests to wishful thinking that a ceasefire may actually hold and so you must pretend you didn’t hear the explosion; and the alarm system is silenced when the government is determined to convince everyone that peace is at hand. So now you know you were dreaming when your home is blasted.

JERUSALEM, Israel -- Israel made a surprise move by pulling back forces from parts of Gaza while still vowing to respond against any Hamas attacks.

But the most profound legacy of this military operation may be an emergency regional alliance to combat a nuclear-armed Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a new level of regional cooperation he said would surprise many. It would be a very important asset for the State of Israel, he said, and would open new possibilities when the campaign against Hamas ends.

It's a move that may indicate a major shift in the Middle East.

"It's probably the first time in its history it [Israel] finds itself in a kind of de facto member of one regional camp against another," Middle East expert Jonathan Spyer told CBN News.

Spyer said this unprecedented alliance unites Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel to face their common enemy -- Iran.

"So the sense in which this emergent alliance is an alliance of countries associated or allied with the U.S. but which are nevertheless deeply disappointed or dismayed at the direction that U.S. policy has taken on a number of Middle East files and perhaps most importantly on Iranian nuclear ambitions," he said.

Spyer said Netanyahu and other regional players feel the United States and the West won't stop Iran's nuclear program so they must be ready.

CBN News Senior Editor John Waage said Netanyahu must look beyond the latest conflict with Hamas

"The bigger picture is Netanyahu cannot afford only to concentrate on this terrible problem in Gaza. Hamas is small potatoes compared with Iran," Waage explained. "He does have to deal with the [Hamas] threat because it immediately threatens the citizens of Israel especially but he can't focus just on that."

"He may need to make some regional cooperation with regional allies like Egypt and potentially Saudi Arabia in order to deal with the larger threats like the nuclear one with Iran," Waage said.

Spyer said this new regional alliance sees the United States aligning with the wrong people. One example came when Secretary of State John Kerry tried to broker a ceasefire with Qatar and Turkey, two states that financially support Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

"It's bringing in the very forces that are supporting Hamas, the forces that come from a similar ideology to Hamas, the very forces that are staunchly opposed to Israel and staunchly opposed to Western interests and staunchly in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood," Spyer said.

With or without the United States, this potential alliance appears to feel it may face Iran alone. Hamas may have attacked Israel, but it also may have helped bring a region together to face the Middle East's biggest threat: a nuclear-armed Iran.

"He does have to deal with the [Hamas] threat because it immediately threatens the citizens of Israel especially but he can't focus just on that."

"He may need to make some regional cooperation with regional allies like Egypt and potentially Saudi Arabia in order to deal with the larger threats like the nuclear one with Iran," Waage said.

Spyer said this new regional alliance sees the United States aligning with the wrong people. One example came when Secretary of State John Kerry tried to broker a ceasefire with Qatar and Turkey, two states that financially support Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

"It's bringing in the very forces that are supporting Hamas, the forces that come from a similar ideology to Hamas, the very forces that are staunchly opposed to Israel and staunchly opposed to Western interests and staunchly in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood," Spyer said.

With or without the United States, this potential alliance appears to feel it may face Iran alone. Hamas may have attacked Israel, but it also may have helped bring a region together to face the Middle East's biggest threat: a nuclear-armed Iran.

Netanjahun puhe Yk:ssa. On vaikeampi löytää todisteita että Iran ei tee ydinaseita,kuin että se tekee. Tottahan tuo on. Yksi ydinvoimala,vaihtoehtoista energiaa vaikka kuinka,ja kaksi kertaa jää kiinni maanalaisesta ydinlaitoksesta,rikastuskoneista ja kaikkein paras Raskasvesivoimalasta. Mitä rauhanomainen maa tekee niillä. Nuo faktat unohtuneet ja Obaman touhut lähinnä häiritseviä. Iran on valmistautunut yhteenottoon niin,etttä Hizbollah on hampaisiin asti aseissa eivätkä tiedä enään minne sijoittaa kymmeniä tuhansia rakettejaan. Joukot on harjoitettu Syyriassa.
Tuosta kaikesta tulee vielä tosi karkelot. Tai sitten hyväksytään ydinaseistettu Iran.

Eilen alkoi raketteja sataa yli 50 ja vastaus niille tuli ilmavoimien toimesta. Tulitaukoa olikin kestänyt,kunnes oltiin taas alkutilanteessa. Silti Johtajat toistavat samaa mantraa että Hamas haluaa lopettaa sodan ja löytää ulospääsyn. Tämän vuoksi Israelin johto pakittelee. Todisteet puhuvat vastaan ja arvostelijoiden joukko kasvaa. Israelin oikeusministerikin on varoittanut useasti että ei terroristien kanssa neuvotella. Ne tuhotaan.

Hamas on rikkonut jo kuusikertaa tulitaukoa ja joka kerta Netanjahun hallitus selittelee että Hamasin johto on vähän jakautunut ja siellä on fiksuja rauhantahtoisia yksilöitä jotka vastustavat rakettien ampumista ja muuta roskaa. Hamas ja Netanjahu tuntuvat käyvän eri sotaa. Kansalla alkaa olla mitta täynnä. Viikonloppuna ainakin 30-tuhatta osoitti mieltään ja vaati että nyt pitäisi tehdä jotain. Monet on ilmoittanut ettei laita lapsiaan kouluun joka alkaa parin viikonpäästä ellei tilanteeseen tule kunnon muutosta. Monella onkin kesäloma mennyt sisätiloissa.
Nyt Netanjahu on yrittänyt salamurhailla rakettihyökkäyksistä vastuussa olevia johtajia. Vaikuttaa viimeiseltä oljenkorrelta millä saadaan perustelua valittu linja.

Netanjahun lähtölaskenta on varmaan alkanut ja tilalle tulee sellainen joka laittaa tuulemaan. Jos vaalitulos mukailee kansan mielipiteitä yhtään.
