NSH USA's president told me NSH Group halted all trade with Russia after the invasion last year. But NSH signaled its intention to continue supplying Russia with its products in its annual report, published almost half-a-year after Russia's full-scale invasion had commenced, believing any contracts signed before the Russian offensive started were above board.

The H in NSH, a subsidiary called Hegenscheidt-MFD, made no fewer than 40 shipments to Russia worth $17 million between May of 2022 and March of this year. "NewsHour" reached out to the U.S. Department of Commerce to check if NSH had applied for American export licenses for the machines we traced to Russian defense firms.

But the agency said it couldn't comment on company-specific licensing requests.

Monta paljon puhuvaa asiaa tässä, mitä on vaikea käsittää. Kuinka tuotanto on vieläkin käynnistämättä, miten 2014-2015 tapahtumien jälkeen varastot ovat edelleen pidetty tyhjänä. Ei niin minkään näköistä ennakointia ja reagointikin tuskallisen hidasta.

A brief report for the day.

There were various meetings. Among the main ones is a meeting with the head of the GUR. Meaningful. About good things for Ukraine - we managed to do something important in security matters. Details later.

Today, there was a report by the head of the SBU on countermeasures against collaborators. Also meaningful. And in general, there is something to thank our guys from the Security Service for today. Important operations, and most importantly - effective. Well done!

I held a meeting with government officials - it was agreed upon in Kharkiv yesterday. We have various government programs for recovery, for helping regions and people who have lost their homes. There is work to rebuild the social sphere and physical protection of energy facilities. Regarding such issues, he instructed to prepare a detailed report.

We are doing everything to give Ukraine more air defense systems before winter. And now, by the way, we expect certain decisions from our partners. But all the work in the regions, which concerns the physical protection of critical objects and urgent reconstruction, should be carried out as much as possible before winter.

80-luvun vanhemman mallin taikaviitta suojasi kyllä atomipommilta, mutta vettä se ei kyllä pitänyt.

Ukrainalle on elintärkeää tuhota Venäjän tykistöä edetäkseen rintamalla. Aikaikkuna vastahyökkäykselle on kuitenkin pian umpeutumassa.
