MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. Kyiv's accusations of an alleged strike by the Russian Armed Forces on a market in Sumy are a provocation to disrupt the Russia-US meeting in Alaska, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The Kyiv regime's accusations of an alleged strike by the Russian Armed Forces on August 15 on a market in the center of Sumy and other populated areas are a deliberate provocation aimed at creating a negative media background in order to disrupt the upcoming Russian-American talks in Anchorage. The Russian Defense Ministry officially warned about the Kyiv regime's preparation of such a provocation on Tuesday, August 12," they reported.

The Defense Ministry emphasized that the Russian Armed Forces did not carry out any strikes on the city of Sumy or other cities.
