The design of the multi-purpose aircraft model Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo was started by Czechoslovak aircraft manufacturers in the late 70s of the last century, and the Let Z-37 Cmelak aircraft was taken as the basis for the model, which in essence became one of the most important factors in the fact that the design of the aircraft had a very tight deadline, and the project itself turned out to be very cheap, which, however, did not lead to great popularization of this aircraft.
The main area of use of the Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo aircraft is in the agricultural sector, where the aircraft was used for processing fields and agricultural land, however, due to the presence of two seats in the aircraft cabin, the aircraft also found application in the private aviation sector, however, here the use of the aircraft was very limited.

For a two-seater aircraft, the design of the Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo aircraft has fairly large dimensions, which naturally resulted in the aircraft's rather low aerodynamics, which also affected its maneuverability, although, as noted by the direct operators of this aircraft, this aircraft did not cause any complaints regarding its controllability.
The first flight of the multi-purpose aircraft Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo took place in September 1981, and due to the fact that the aircraft successfully passed all the necessary test trials, the project was soon launched into serial production. During the entire production period, Czechoslovak aircraft manufacturers built 51 aircraft, of which only a few airworthy examples have survived to this day.

The cabin of the Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo aircraft is equipped with two seats, which allows the pilot and one passenger to be seated on board, however, this aircraft was practically not used for transporting people - the only exception is the private sphere of using the aircraft, since the aircraft was mainly used as an agricultural aircraft. The presence of a small amount of free space on board the aircraft does not allow using this aircraft as a means of transporting cargo.
The Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo aircraft is equipped with a turboprop power plant, which includes one Walter M601Z engine capable of developing 483 hp, which provides the aircraft with high lift, as well as a very acceptable speed for this type of aircraft, which can reach 285 km/h (depending on the aircraft modification).
The production of the Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo aircraft was carried out in two main versions:
- Zlin Z 37T Agro-Turbo – basic version of the aircraft;
- Zlin Z 137T Agro-Turbo is an improved version of the aircraft, which has a number of technical improvements.
