Special forces are a special, best-trained category of National Guard servicemen. Critical tasks and the most complex operations are what fighters do during their service. From 2003 to 2023, the scope and content of their actions were transformed, but the main task remains unchanged - to defend the life and freedom of Ukrainians and protect the territorial integrity of the state.

Special unit of the National Guard of Ukraine: One year of battles from Irpin to Avdiyivka
The "M2" group of the National Guard special forces unit was created in February 2022 from volunteers, Guard veterans and staff officers. At first, the soldiers of this unit destroyed the invaders in the Kyiv region. In March, "M2" repelled the aggressor in the east of Ukraine: they defended Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Izyum and other settlements, where hellish battles were fought.
Recently the soldiers worked on the Avdiivka axis. Only here, since June 2022, the "M2" unit has destroyed more than 60 enemy armored vehicles.

"Constant fire damage, which was carried out by our gunners on the Right Bank 24 hours a day, led to the enemy losing a huge amount of equipment, in particular, two S-300 systems, from which the enemy shelled Mykolaiv," - said the serviceman.
