This is the story of the three Canadians who joined the 3rd Assault Brigade and got their baptism by fire with the brigade during the operation in Avdiivka. The brigade's task was to relieve Ukrainian defenders of the city and to allow them an organized retreat. The battle for Avdiivka was one of the largest operations of the 2024 campaign. It was fought against an opponent who massively outnumbered Ukrainian troops and had an artillery and air force advantage. But that never stopped the brave ones from rising up to the challenge.

3rd SSO regiment: the battle near Borodyanka on February 27, 2022

Bearded lady Fight. Part one

For one of the tactical groups of the 3rd separate special forces regiment named after Prince Svyatoslav the Brave, the defense of Kyiv region began on February 27, 2022. Then the servicemen were tasked with stopping the movement of the convoy, which was moving from the Chernobyl side through the Borodyanka - Makariv - Zhytomyr highway towards Kyiv.

- In fact, we had to do "at least something" with her, - remember the direct participants of those events.

Then, on two "Humves" and "Cossack", the group advanced to intercept and organized an ambush. On the way, they were joined by colleagues from the 142nd training center of the SSO. Having quickly discussed the plan, having grenade launchers, a large-caliber machine gun and small arms in their arsenal, the boys set to work.

- They were precisely "parade". They had this "Colorado" and "star" ribbon on their sides, - recalls a fighter with the call sign "Duhovny", recalling the enemy column on the outskirts of Borodyanka.

Having accepted the battle, the special forces destroyed several BMPs, armored personnel carriers and tanks, but the number of the enemy was many times greater.

- Nobody told us how many there are: 10, 20, 30? And in fact, the enemy had 370 pieces of equipment, - says "Duhovny".

Eventually the group was ordered to leave. Several fighters were wounded, including the group commander. There were losses in the friendly unit.

The main forces of SSO operators left on vehicles, however, "Duhovny", "PRICE" and a few more of their counterparts left on foot.

- The first fight was, to be honest, "crazy". I did not expect that everything would be so dynamic and powerful, - recalls the fighter with the call sign "PRICE".

On May 6, 2024, the unit of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "Group 13" with the help of the Magura V5 strike naval drone destroyed the Russian high-speed patrol boat of the project 12150 "Mongoose".

Boats of this class are used by the enemy fleet and special services as multi-purpose high-speed vessels to patrol the water area, fight saboteurs, as well as search and rescue operations.

"Mangooses" have been made since 2000. The boat reaches up to 20 m long and up to 5 meters wide. The maximum speed is up to 50 knots.

In modified versions of high-speed boats, combat remote-controlled modules with the main standard weapon - a machine gun installation of 14.5 mm caliber are installed.

Also on board the "mangoose", the Russians have two automatic AGS-17 grenade launchers, a manual anti-sabotage grenade launcher DP-64 and two Igla or Willow-type MANPADS.

The estimated cost of the destroyed "mangoose" is about $3 million.

"We got so tired of waiting, we were sitting charged, and as soon as the command was given to start the assault, we immediately dismantled that house with everything possible: with RPGs, "bulldogs", we piled in there with Kalashnikovs, we threw bullets at them", - in this video fighters of the 3rd OSHBr, Dron, Ikar, and Rapira analyze the operation to liberate Krasnohorivka, carried out at the end of February 2024, in which they were participants.

The stormtroopers cleared building after building, and the enemy refused to surrender and held the defense until the last. Sometimes the liquidation of the occupier required considerable effort and risk. INCREDIBLE frontline footage released by Ukrainian 24th brigade appears to show Ukrainian military mission as soldiers peel through several Russian hideouts and clear them out with explosives and firearms.

This comes as thousands of civilians have fled their homes in Kharkiv as Ukrainian troops fight "fiercely" against Russian invaders.

Kyiv is valiantly repulsing the attacks of Vladimir Putin's troops after launching a new assault on the Ukrainian region on Friday, threatening to open a new front in the 27-month war.

Another strategically important direction for the enemy in the east of our country is the village of Terny, located in the north of the Donetsk region - 17 kilometers west of Kreminnaya. Until the beginning of March, the enemy advanced here with active assault actions, using a large number of equipment and infantry, including both mobilized Russians and former prisoners of the Russian Federation. However, in some places, specialized special forces were also seen entering the positions of the Ukrainian military after their capture.

The approaches to the Thorns in their area currently resemble a scorched steppe. Today, the Ukrainian military stopped the large-scale advance of the enemy in this area, however, the enemy does not abandon plans to enter the village and advance to the Torske-Yampolivka-Terny line and push Ukrainian forces beyond the Black Stallion River.

Currently, the defense of Terni is provided by brigades of the National Guard of Ukraine, which are part of the Defense Forces. It is the tactical group of the NGU, led by the command of the "Azov" brigade, that has been holding the defense and destroying the enemy on the approaches to the Ukrainian positions for more than 3 months.
