AZOV BRIGADE: DRONES, REPELLING RUSSIAN ASSAULTS, ENEMY LOSSES, SITUATION IN TERNY

Another strategically important area for the enemy in the east of our country is the village of Terny, located in the north of Donetsk region, 17 kilometers west from Kreminna. Until early March, the enemy was actively advancing here with assault operations, using a large number of vehicles and infantry, including both conscripted russians and former prisoners. However, in some places, professional special forces were also seen invading the abandoned positions of the Ukrainian military.

The approaches to Terny now look like scorched steppe. Today, Ukrainian troops have stopped the enemy's large-scale advance in this area, but the enemy is still planning to enter the village and advance to the Torske-Yampolivka-Terny line and push Ukrainian forces beyond the Chornyi Zherebets River.

Currently, Terny is being defended by brigades of the National Guard of Ukraine, which is part of the Defense Forces. It is the tactical group of the National Guard, led by the command of the Azov Brigade, that has been holding the defense and destroying the enemy on the outskirts of Ukrainian positions for over 3 months.

In August 2023, the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted an extremely difficult, but very successful combat amphibious operation on the Dnieper, in its lower reaches, thanks to which a tactical bridgehead was created on the left bank of the Kherson region, in the area of the settlements of Krynka and Kozachi Lageri.

Subsequently, it was expanded, saturated with marine troops, so the scale and importance were increased to operational. It is still being held under intense pressure from the enemy. In fact, this is the last successful advance of the Ukrainian army, when the front line, even if not for a long distance, was managed to move towards the occupied territory. Today, after nine months of heavy fighting, this narrow strip of coastal land in Krynyk remains the scene of an incredibly long, exhausting and bloody battle. And it takes place not only on land, but also in the waters of the Dnieper and its left branch, the Konka River.

It is difficult to keep the bridgehead in Krynyky, because there is nowhere to hide in that area: the village itself was destroyed, there are no capital structures, the terrain is wooded and marshy, so it is incredibly difficult to defend. It is possible to do this effectively mainly due to the active use of drones of various types and artillery fire from the right bank. But it is almost impossible to significantly expand, because it is impossible to overturn our armored vehicles when the enemy controls the left-bank part of the Kherson Region up to the Crimea.

In order to neutralize strike naval drones on the approach to the narrow bay, Russian occupiers in Crimea raised combat aviation 32 times into the sky, in particular - Su-27/30/35, MiG-29, Be-12, An-26 and Ka-27/29 and Mi-8 helicopters.
Also, the invaders chaotically used small arms and 30 mm guns.

However, nothing prevented the special forces of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine from successfully completing the combat mission: as a result of the strike, two Russian boats were destroyed - according to preliminary data, high-speed transport and airborne KS-701 "Tunets".

"A real war can already be felt here, Bakhmut was a walk in the park," says the 21-year-old gun commander about the section of the front where the unit is currently fighting. To fire the AS-90, he only needs to enter the coordinates of the target.

"There is the possibility of firing with various ammunition, both standard and cluster, remote mining, smoke, lighting. She showed herself very well, that is, not a lot of BC is spent on shooting. Already from the first shots, there is a hit on the target," the gunners explain.

Working with the AS-90, each combatant of the calculation fulfills its function and thanks to the quick coordination, in particular, the internal communication in the gun, the gunners act clearly and harmoniously.
