Britannian hävittäjät ja venäläiskone välikohtauksessa Mustanmeren yllä – toista kertaa tällä viikolla

Britannian hävittäjät ovat estäneet venäläisen merivalvontakoneen kulun
Mustallamerellä torstaina. Britannian puolustusministeriö kertoi asiasta perjantaina. Puolustusministeriön mukaan kyseessä on toinen vastaavanlainen välikohtaus tällä viikolla.
Britannian kuninkaallisten ilmavoimien Typhoon-hävittäjät nousivat ilmaan Romanian Mihail Kogalniceanun ilmatukikohdasta.
Onko tuolla alueella menossa joku Baltic Air Policingin tyyppinen NATO-operaatio ? Vai onko NATO-liittolaisten hävittäjiä viime aikoina sijoitettu alueelle Ukrainan tilanteen takia ? Meinaan että Romanialla on kyllä omiakin hävittäjiä näihin hälytyspäivystystehtäviin.

CONSTANTA, Romania - Four British Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter aircraft returned to Romania on Monday, April 23, 2018, to continue NATO’s enhanced Air Policing mission in the Black Sea region from May until September.
The Royal British Air Force will be flying in partnership with Romanian MiG-21 LanceR aircraft out of Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base near Constanta in southeast Romania.
"This is an important role for us that will build upon the success of last year’s mission to help to secure NATO airspace in the Black Sea region,” said Wing Commander Chris Ball, commander of the British detachment.
While the Romanian Air Force is fully capable of protecting its airspace, enhanced Air Policing (eAP) is part of the Alliance’s Assurance Measures for Eastern Allies introduced in 2014. Under NATO Allied Air Command control, tactically delivered by their Combined Air Operations Centre Torrejon, Spain, this deployment is a clear demonstration of the ability to fully exploit and integrate Allied Air Power.
Besides conducting NATO’s Air Policing mission at home, the RAF has also previously deployed Typhoons to the Baltic States in recent years to protect NATO airspace in the region. This is the second time RAF Typhoon aircraft fly sorties and training missions alongside the Romanian MiG-21 fighters showcasing Allied solidarity, commitment and capability.

NATO jets start air patrols over Romania
Four Typhoon fighter aircraft from the British Royal Air Force arrived in Romania on Monday (April 24 2017) as part of NATO’s enhanced Air Policing mission. The air patrols will form an important part of the Alliance’s role to maintain security in the Black Sea region and demonstrate NATO’s unity and resolve in response to a more challenging security environment.
The Typhoon multi-role fighters from Royal Air Force 3 Fighter Squadron will be based at the Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase in southeast Romania for four months. They’ll be working alongside the Romanian Air Force to conduct the NATO mission, similar to NATO’s Air Policing role in the Baltics.
NATO Spokesperson Oana Lungescu said, “This is an important mission which will help keep the skies over Romania safe. It’s just one of many measures NATO has taken to enhance our collective defence across the eastern part of the Alliance. From the Black Sea to the Baltics, Allies are standing together. NATO is determined to defend any Ally against any threat.”
Following decisions taken by Allied Heads of State and Government at the Warsaw Summit in 2016, NATO is increasing its presence in the Black Sea region. On land, this presence is built around a Romanian-led multinational brigade. Romania is a key NATO Ally and it makes valuable contributions to NATO’s Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and to the KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.
"Koneet estivät Venäjän Beriev Be-12 -tyyppisen koneen kulun Naton valvonnassa olevaan ilmatilaan."
Mitähän tuokin tarkoittaa? Estivät - miten? NATO:n valvonnassa olevaan ilmatilaan - Romanian ilmatilaan?

Romania on köyhä Natomaa, jolla on ikivanhoja Mig-21:siä, ja sitten kourallinen juuri hankittuja käytettyjä F-16. Muut Natomaat sitten jelppaavat Romaniaa, vaikka eivät täysin vastaakaan asiasta, kuten Baltiassa ja Luxemburgissa.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-45421445Two Russian nationals have been named as suspects in the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.
There is "sufficient evidence" to charge Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov over the attack in Salisbury, Scotland Yard and the CPS say.
They are thought to have been using the names as aliases and are about 40.
Mr Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33, were poisoned with nerve agent Novichok in March.
Sue Hemming, CPS director of legal services, said there was enough evidence "to provide a realistic prospect of conviction" and that "it is clearly in the public interest to charge Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov".
Metropolitan Police say they arrived at Gatwick Airport from Moscow on 2 March and stayed at the City Stay Hotel in Bow Road, east London before travelling to Salisbury on 4 March, where Mr Skripal's front door was contaminated with Novichok.
The offences include conspiracy to murder Sergei Skripal; the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal, Yulia Skripal and Nick Bailey; the use and possession of Novichok contrary to the Chemical Weapons Act; and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Yulia Skripal and Nick Bailey.
Det Sgt Nick Bailey fell ill responding to the incident in Salisbury.
Prime Minister Theresa May is to make a statement in the House of Commons later to update MPs on the investigation, Downing Street has said.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...ussian-military-intelligence-says-theresa-mayTwo Russian nationals named and charged over the novichok poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury have been identified as officers from Russia’s military intelligence, Theresa May has said, saying the attack was clearly authorised by Moscow.
Updating the Commons after police and prosecutors said the attack appeared to have been carried out by men travelling on authentic Russian passports under the names of Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, the prime minister promised a stern response.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said there was enough evidence to charge the men, who arrived in the UK on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow days before the attack.
May began by outlining the “painstaking and methodical work” police work that identified the suspects, saying 25 detectives examined11,000 hours of CCTV footage and took 1,400 statements.
“We were right to say in March that the Russian state was responsible. And now we have identified the individuals involved we can go even further,” she said.
“Mr Speaker, just as the police investigation has enabled the CPS to bring charges against the two suspects, so the security and intelligence agencies have carried their own investigations into the organisation behind this attack.
“Based on this work, I can today tell the house that based on a body of intelligence the government has concluded the two individuals named by the police and CPS are officers from the Russian military intelligence service, also known as the GRU.
“The GRU is a highly disciplined organisation with a well-established chain of command. So this was not a rogue operation. It was almost certainly also approved outside the GRU at a senior level of the Russian state.”
This was part of “a wider pattern of Russian activity”, May said, promising new action to combat the GRU, and against Russia more generally.
The CPS said it had charged the two men with conspiracy to murder the Skripals and DS Nick Bailey, who fell ill after going to the Skripal home after the Russian pair were found slumped on a bench in Salisbury.
The two Russian suspects are also charged with the use and possession of novichok, contrary to the Chemical Weapons Act. They are also charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Yulia Skripal and DS Bailey.
They have not been charged with the later poisoning that killed Dawn Sturgess and left Charlie Rowley seriously ill, after they became unwell on 30 June at an address in Amesbury, Wiltshire.
