Political scientist Bashirov saw the US trace in the assassination attempt on Fico: “Orban is next”
The assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was supposed to be the second in a series of attacks on leaders of countries who do not want to live according to Washington’s orders. Erdogan could be the first. But the attempt on his life was revealed in time by the Turkish intelligence services. This version of events was expressed to MK by political scientist Marat Bashirov. The expert is confident that the next victims of assassination attempts could be Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Robert Fico was shot on Wednesday after a government meeting. Eyewitnesses heard four or five shots. The Slovak Prime Minister received multiple wounds in the chest, stomach, arms and legs.
Shortly after the incident, a post appeared on Fico’s Facebook page (the social network is owned by the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia) about the politician’s condition after the assassination attempt:
“He is currently in a life-threatening condition. He is currently being transported by helicopter to Banska Bystrica, as delivery to Bratislava would take too long given the urgent need for intervention. Everything will be decided in the next few hours,” the message says.
Russian experts have offered several versions of the attempted assassination of the Prime Minister of Slovakia. Political scientist Sergei Markov believes that there may be six versions: “1. Neo-Nazi Ukrainian groups on their own initiative. 2. The war party in the intelligence services of the USA or Britain or France because Fico was for peace. 3. Criminal local groups. 4. Radical Islamist groups associated with US intelligence agencies. 5. Some kind of radical group, for example, Left-wing anarchists or environmental fanatics, or migrant advocates. 6. Local crazy."
The last version with the “local madman” is basically suitable. At least externally. Immediately after the attack on Fico, the shooter was detained and arrested. He actually turned out to be a local 71-year-old man. Whether he is crazy - the investigation will figure it out. At the moment, we know from local media that the shooter’s name is Juraj Tsintula. He is a writer and supporter of the opposition party Progressive Slovakia.
However, a lone psycho (even if he is also an ardent oppositionist) would be too easy. Moreover, we all remember the same Daria Trepova (included in the Rosfinmonitoring list of terrorists and extremists). Also local, she doesn’t have much intelligence either. But she blew up Vladlen Tatarsky in a St. Petersburg cafe not according to her own script, but at the behest of her curators.
The assassination attempt on Robert Fico had clearly higher-ranking handlers. The roots of the attack on the Slovak prime minister must be sought in the United States, political scientist Marat Bashirov is sure.
The US has two ways to achieve its goals: buy and kill. If you can’t buy it, then you have to kill it,” the expert shared his thoughts with MK.
Bashirov drew attention to the event preceding the attack on Fico. Last night, Turkish President Erdogan held an emergency meeting with security forces after reports of the coup. The Turkish leader knows very well what this entails. In 2015, he already survived one coup attempt. The Americans were the puppeteers; Erdogan himself was then saved by our special services. Apparently, since then the Turkish security forces have begun to keep their ears to the ground.
This time the assassination attempt on Erdogan was prevented. There is no attempt on Fico’s life, the expert stated and emphasized: such coincidences do not happen. According to Bashirov, the failed attack on Erdogan and the assassination attempt on Fico had the same goal - to strike at Russia by weakening countries that pursue independent policies in the interests of their own people.
In addition, removing the pro-Russian Robert Fico was beneficial for one more reason, the political scientist notes. There are defense industry factories left in Slovakia that can produce Soviet-style shells. The inflexible position of Bratislava does not allow launching this production and supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “If we eliminate Fico, we’ll get a cheap way to rivet cartridges for Kyiv,” this is what the scriptwriters of the assassination attempt on the politician might have thought.
True, in this case they did not take into account one nuance: if Fico dies, his place will certainly be taken by a person with even more anti-Western views. However, those who hoped to provoke the collapse of the regime in Russia with the departure of McDonald's and Zara probably acted in the same logic.
Slovak doctors are fighting for the life of Robert Fico. But now it is important not only to save his life, but also to prevent new assassination attempts, Marat Bashirov is sure. The expert suggested that Viktor Orban and Aleksandar Vucic could be next in line:
- We, of course, hope that these politicians are not in danger. However, both the Prime Minister of Hungary and the President of Serbia simultaneously announced that they would definitely visit the wounded Fico in the near future. It's like they both feel something.
