No enpä kyllä osaa vastata. Eikä täsmällistä vastausta liene olemassakaan mutta on joukko sotilaitamme jotka saavat palkkaa näiden asioiden ja taktiikoiden miettimisestä ja heidän arvioimansa minimimäärä on tuo reilut 60.

Kuten kaikki F-35 ostaneet maat, niitä on ostettu tipottain / ryppäinä aina vähän kerrallaan. Syynä on todennäköisesti se, että kone on vielä kehitysvaiheessa. Ja nyt on Israelilla sitten commitmentti 50 kappaleeseen.
Ei tuo isosti asiaa muuta. Miksi käyttää edes sitä ilmaista rahaa huonoon kalustoon kun kelvollistakin on tarjolla?
Israelilla on toisaalta melko hyvä neuvotteluasema. Uuden konetyypin kehittäminen voi toki olla jo liikaa vaadittu

Silent Eaglea ei ole olemassakaan, joten kyllä sen pyynti on nähtävä neuvottelutaktiikkana. Sen sijaan Israel on saanut 8 kpl F-15D:tä varaosiksi ja suunnittelee mahdollisesti ostavansa lisää F-15I:tä, joka pohjautuu E:hen.

Kreikkalaisen sanomalehden mukaan Kreikka on kysynyt USA:lta mahdollisuutta ostaa F-35 koneita.

@jokuvaan linkkaaman artikkelin mukaan Kreikan hintakin voisi olla ihan omaa luokkaansa:
Tähän täytyy liittyä jotain kreikkalaista talousmatematiikkaa; koneet (20kpl) maksaisivat tuon mukaan 2 miljoonaa taalaa ja puolustusministeri kavereineen puhaltaisi omiin taskuihinsa pauttiarallaa 1,998 miljardia.
