Russian President Vladimir Putin kissed the Koran during his visit to Grozny. This was stated by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on his Telegram channel.
He explained that the head of state has always emphasized respect for Islam.
"During his visit to Grozny, he went into a mosque, kissed the Holy Quran - and with this gave a clear signal: Islam is not a threat, it is part of Russian history and culture," Kadyrov said details about Putin's trip.
He also called for people to follow the president's example and not divide people by religion.
