Context of mutual understanding between Russia, China seen in results of talks — Kremlin
It is stated that the entire context of the parties' mutual understanding is conveyed in two documents, the two signed statements that were approved following the Russia-China talks
MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. The context of mutual understanding between Russia and China is described in the documents signed following recent talks between the leaders of both countries, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
"We are guided by the content and spirit of interaction that took place between President Putin and Chairman Xi very recently in Moscow. Actually, the entire context of their mutual understanding is conveyed in two documents, the two signed statements that were approved following the Russia-China talks. They are very substantive and it is precisely there that the entire range of issues on the shared agenda is fully elucidated," the Kremlin official told reporters commenting on remarks by China’s Ambassador to the EU Fu Cong.
Earlier,
The New York Times reported that on the eve of French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s visit to China, the envoy said "that critics had misinterpreted his country’s relationship with Russia." According to him, the declarations of "no-limit" friendship and cooperation are "nothing but rhetoric."
Xi Jinping was on a state visit to Russia on March 20-22. On the first day of his visit, the Chinese leader held one-on-one talks with the Russian president for 4.5 hours, and on the following day, he spent about six hours at talks in the Kremlin in various formats. The parties signed two statements outlining what was accomplished during the visit and called it successful.
