"First, you have to suppress the will of the occupiers to resist, so that they become really scared, then they surrender much faster," - the fighters of the 3rd OShBr, Darwin, Sokil and Guenon comment on the video of the successful combat operation in the Bakhmut direction, in which they took a direct part. The task was that groups of stormtroopers had to recapture a forest strip in which the occupiers were firmly entrenched. One of the groups of fighters had to do this behind enemy lines. For some of them, it was their first combat tour.
"The situation is that there is a strip of forest that must be taken. The movement takes place from the front in the usual way. One of the groups advances, gradually displacing the enemy, and the second group, in this case ours, went to the rear, cut off their supply line. That is, to them the reserves can't come because they'll get into us, they can't run, they can't get BC to them. That's how we cut them off to destroy them," explains platoon leader Darwin.
From the very beginning, the stormtroopers had to work in conditions of extremely dense fire from small arms. And later, under targeted artillery fire, as a result of which some of the soldiers received contusions. Despite everything, the stormtroopers could not stay in place, it was necessary to constantly move forward.
"It was important to maintain the advance throughout the battle, because Foka reported that enemy artillery was aimed at us. If we had stopped to fight there for another half hour, they would have aimed at us much more precisely," says Darwin.
According to the stormtroopers, the occupiers who held the forest strip very competently set up their anti-tank weapons - under the root system of trees: they were difficult to see and difficult to get.
"More than one clip was fired inside the dugout, it was pelted with grenades, then more RPG shots were fired at it, VOGs. Still, the bastards behind the wall were basically alive," comments friend Guenon.
The lack of visual contact with the enemy, and often with each other, significantly complicated the work of the fighters. It was not always possible to quickly determine whether you were facing an enemy group or your own.
"Many times the situation was when we had already established ourselves, saw some movement, and it was difficult to tell whether it was our neighboring group, because everyone did not have visual contact with each other, plus a reserve of people who we did not know by face came up . And now we think: the enemy, most likely, because the direction is somehow suspicious. Here they shout at us: "the capital of Moscow!" - apparently it was their password. After that, we already understood that it was the enemy," recalls Darwin.
For about 24 hours, the attack aircraft of the 3rd OShBr in the enemy's rear held the defense, cutting off the supply line to the occupiers. The next day, neighboring units made their way to the fighters, finally displacing or destroying the enemy from this area. As a result of the military operation, several kilometers of Ukrainian land were liberated.
The detailed story of the soldiers of the 3rd OShBr about how everything happened is in the video.
