How Ukrainian tankers will use the German "Leopard 1" on the battlefield/ hromadske
When it became known that Ukraine would receive a hundred Leopard 1 tanks, the question arose as to how they would be used at the front. The Leopard 1A5 was developed with the Cold War in mind and the possible use of nuclear weapons on the battlefield, so mobility was preferred over protection. They said, nothing will save you from nuclear weapons anyway. In the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the tank's thin armor is its significant disadvantage. This is also noted by tankers who received them for service. But they have already appreciated other advantages — maneuverability, mobility and speed. The driver-mechanic Khomyak says that the tank accelerates backwards faster than the T-64 forwards, on which he previously worked. On a "leopard", a tank driver drives up to 50 km/h.
In addition, as gunner Vladyslav says, he can hit a target with 90% confidence at a distance of 3.5 km.
“It [the gun] will work quite effectively at long range. The sight allows, the thermal sight also allows to [work] at night," says platoon commander Oleksandr about the advantages of the Leopard 1.
The military adds that although the Leopard 1's gun is of a smaller caliber — 105 mm — it can also penetrate modern Russian tanks.

Flank Defense of Bakhmut by the RUBIZH Brigade of NGU: Prior to liberation of Klishchiivka
Last summer, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the village of Klishchiivka on the southern flank of Bakhmut.
Nearby, the Horlivka-Bachmut highway runs, serving as a supply route for the occupiers.
Heavy fighting for this settlement continues. Russian occupiers are attempting to regain lost positions, employing all available firepower from aviation to mortars and grenade launchers.
Battle for Klishchiivka continued in the fall of 2023. The enemy's tactics, the importance of communication during active combat, the mood and morale of its defenders before the advance, and what Ukrainian infantry soldiers desire the most – all of this was shared by the fighters of the Rapid Response Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine – "Rubizh", participating in the clashes on the Bakhmut direction.
