A member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) indicated on March 3 that China has enough confidence to research and develop the J-20 stealth jet in order to protect national airspace safety.
"We have the confidence to research and develop the J-20 stealth jet." Zhu Heping, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), told a journalist from the Xinhua News Agency, before the opening meeting of the Fourth Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The Chinese J-20 stealth fighter jet finished a test flight on January in 2011. Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates visited China on Jan., and Gates indicated that there were still distance between the U.S. stealth fighter F -22 and Chinese J-20 stealth jet, so they do not worry about it.
"If a country deploys a J-20 stealth fighter jet outside its own territory, it is an offensive weapon and a deterrent deployment. We will only deploy it on our own territory to protect our territorial security," said Yin Zhuo, a major-general of the Chinese navy and a member of CPPCC.
"Who are the attackers or defenders? We can see clearly at a glance," said Yin.
