Amerikkalaisen NRA:n "asenteet" ovat kannatettavia ja se tekee tärkeää työtä.
Perustajien henkilöhistoriasta johtuen NRA:sta tuli orjuuden ja rotuerottelun kovaääninen vastustaja.
Sittemmin NRA on muuttunut vaikutusvaltaiseksi kansalais- ja lobbausjärjestöksi, joka on tullut tunnetuksi amerikkalaisten perustuslaillisen aseenkanto-oikeuden voimakkaasta puolustamisesta. Rotuerottelun vastustaminen kuuluu myös edelleen NRA:n agendaan.
NRA:n poliittisessa toiminnassa mekrittävä taho on NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF). Se luokittelee poliittisia päättäjiä ja ehdokkaita sen mukaan, mitä he ovat äänestäneet virassa ollessaan, lausuneet julkisesti ja vastanneet NRA:n lähettämään kyselylomakkeeseen. NRA-PVF arvioi ehdokkaat heidän koko äänestyshistoriansa mukaan, ja antaa arvosanat, joista A on korkein ja F on matalin. A-luokitus tarkoittaa sitä, että luokituksen saanut poliitikko kannattaa NRA:n mukaan Yhdysvaltain perustuslain toista lisäystä, joka antaa ihmisille oikeuden kantaa asetta, ja metsästystä.
NRA kannattaa poliittisia ehdokkaita heidän luokituksensa mukaan. Vuoden 2008 vaaleissa NRA laittoi miljoonia dollareita tukemiensa ehdokkaiden vaalikampanjoihin, kampanjakuluihin ja ruohonjuuritason ohjelmiin.

The proposed draft was put on the table again from the French, whom -- strong of over 130 victims -- basically pointed a gun at the European Union and said: "This has to be done, now".
From what we learned, ALL the representatives of the other EU countries voted YES -- Finland included. So whatever they are telling you now is probably a big load of bullshit.
The proposed changes could become law in LESS THAN 5 MONTHS -- even faster if there are other incidents. And if they pass, Member States will have no choice but to conform to the directive.

The draft was proposed to the representatives of the member States -- it's a first step.
But all representatives voted YES.
Finland included.
It still has to go through a long road.
But may not be so long at all.

The proposal was made by the French Government, which has placed under moral blackmail the representatives of Europe, and was accepted unanimously. Which means that all the representatives of all the European governments have given their consent. Any politician who deny it, is lying.
The proposal to reform the EU directive could be brought in front of the European Parliament, and so become law, in less than five months. If there were any other attacks, regardless of the type of weapons used, could speed up the process. And if this happens, the member states would not have no choice but to comply.
In particular for Italy it would take us from 18 months to two years, normally, because of the feasibility studies and of those relating to the economic aspect. Unfortunately, we are sure that the current structure of government, that wants to give of himself an image and efficiency which has already expressed on the anti-gun positions, may want to press on the gas.
What is even more serious, even if the European laws and constitutions provide for the compensation for every requisition, the European Union (what is without precedent!) That the b7 -- Officials and deactivated -- Legitimately held by European citizens are confiscated immediately without compensation.
The petition that we are relaunching is just the first step. To days the Comitato Direttiva 477 Firearms United-Italia, and other bodies will give more instructions on how to support the fight!

No kerro minulle miksi ja erityisesti ketkä pitävät. Tuollainen onlineri ei varsinaisesti ole keskustelua.
USA:n perustuslain toisen lisäyksen puolustaminen ei ole sikäläisissä oloissa ainutlaatuista eikä NRA suinkaan ole ainoa, joka sitä puolustaa. NRA on tosin erityisen menestynyt lobbaamisessa ja saa siksi suuren mediahuomion. Itse tavoite, eli vapaus omistaa ja kantaa aseita, on hyvä ja tavoittelemisen arvoinen myös Euroopassa.

Jenkkien NRA != Suomen NRA. Jenkki-NRA on vakavasti otettava etujärjestö jolla on paljon vaikutusvaltaa. Tietysti osa kansasta pitää heitä hörhöinä, mutta ao. kansanosa itse on vähintään yhtä ellei enemmänkin hörhöä. Suomen NRAn pyörittäjät taas ovat pikkuhiljaa erkaantuneet todellisuudesta eivätkä edes useimmat aseharrastajat enää halua olla heidän kanssaan tekemisissä. Jos SuomiNRA olisi kuten jenkkiNRA niin itsekin olisin varmaan jäsen.

Stronger control of firearms
Today the European Commission adopted a package of measures to make it more difficult to acquire firearms in the European Union, easier to track legally held firearms, strengthen cooperation between Member States and to ensure that deactivated firearms are rendered irreversibly inoperable.
The package of measures on firearms adopted by the College of Commissioners today includes a revision of the Firearms Directive to tighten controls on the acquisition and possession of firearms; a Regulation on common minimum standards for deactivation of firearms. The Commission also announced that it will prepare an action plan against the illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives.
Originally presented in the European Security Agenda adopted in April 2015, the proposals have been significantly accelerated in light of recent events.
President Juncker said: "The recent terrorist attacks on Europe's people and values were coordinated across borders, showing that we must work together to resist these threats. Today's proposal, prepared jointly by Commissioners Bieńkowska and Avramopoulos, will help us tackle the threat of weapons falling into the hands of terrorists". Internal Market and Industry Commissioner Bieńkowska and Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Avramopoulos added: "The adoption of the firearms package today is proof of the Commission's determination to address the new reality we are confronted with".
Energy Union on track to deliver
Today the Commission published the first State of the Energy Union Report, which shows that extensive progress has been made since the adoption of the Energy Union Framework Strategy in February.
Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič stressed that important work has started and first results have been achieved, such as better interconnectivity and improved energy efficiency. He also said much remains to be done, and 2016 will be an important year for achieving results. "Nine months down the road, we can say with confidence that we are on track to deliver the Energy Union. My messages for 2016 are clear. First, the EU should continue to lead in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Second, that transition should be socially fair and consumer-centred. And third, the geopolitical challenges that we faced this year will not go away. 2016 will also be the year in which we will lay the foundations of a robust governance system bringing predictability and transparency, which is what investors need."
Stronger partnership for a stronger neighbourhood
Today, High Representative Federica Mogherini and Commissioner Johannes Hahn presented the EU's renewed approach to its southern and eastern neighbours.
During this mandate, stabilisation will be the main political priority of the European Neighbourhood Policy(ENP), which will also reflect the different wishes of individual countries concerning the nature and scope of its partnership with the EU. The EU will continue to uphold universal values on democracy, human rights, fundamental freedoms and rule of law.
The new European Neighbourhood Policy supports inclusive economic and social development and sees creating jobs for young people as a key measure of economic stabilisation. There will be a new focus on security, work will be stepped up in conflict prevention, counter-terrorism and anti-radicalisation policies. Safe and legal mobility on the one hand and tackling irregular migration, human trafficking and smuggling on the other are further priorities. Finally, greater attention will be paid to working with partners on energy security and climate action.
The review of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) follows broad consultation with Member States, partner countries, international organisations, social partners, civil society and academia.
