Tapaamiseen osallistuneet maat lupasivat samalla tukea Koreoiden vuoropuhelua, jonka toivotaan johtavan jännitteiden lieventymiseen Korean niemimaalla. Samalla osanottajat kehottivat myös Kiinaa ja Venäjää ottamaan kunnolla käyttöön YK:n asettamat pakotteet.

Yhdysvaltojen ja Kanadan isännöimä yksipäiväinen kokous järjestettiin tiistaina Vancouverissa. Kiina ja Venäjä ovat arvostelleet tapaamisen järjestämistä.

Koreita koneita.

Guamille on saapunut B-52- ja B-1-koneiden lisäksi kolme B-2 Spirit -häivepommittajaa.

Yhdysvallat on lähettänyt Tyynenmeren alueelle lisää pommikoneita. Uusimmat vahvistukset saapuivat tiistaina, kun Andersenin lentotukikohtaan Guamilla laskeutui kuusi B-52 Stratofortress -konetta.

USA:n ilmavoimien tiedotteen mukaan uudet pommikoneet ja niiden mukana tulleet 300 lentäjää ja teknikkoa ottavat kuun lopussa vastaan päivystysvastuun B-1 Lancer -koneilta.

Yhdysvallat on ylläpitänyt pommikoneiden päivystystä Tyynenmeren alueella vuodesta 2004. Tarkoituksena on näyttää liittolaismaille, että maalla on riittävästi sotilaallista suorituskykyä potentiaalisten uhkien torjumiseen.

B-52- ja B-1-koneiden lisäksi Guamille saapui viime viikolla kolme B-2 Spirit -häivepommittajaa. Yhdysvaltain puolustusministeriö Pentagon luonnehti pommikoneiden vierailua lyhytaikaiseksi.

North and South Korea have confirmed they are to field a joint women’s ice hockey team and will march under a pro-unification flag at next month’s Winter Olympics, in the clearest sign yet of a thaw in tensions between the two countries.

The two sides are to present their plan for a “peace games” to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the weekend, following three days of talks in the border village of Panmunjom.

The South Korean unification ministry said the two countries had also exchanged opinions on the size of the North Korean team, joint cultural events and the possible use of the Masikryong ski resort in North Korea.

North Korea also offered to send 230 members of its all-female cheerleading squad to the Games in Pyeongchang, which open on 9 February.

Reports said the delegation would probably walk across the demilitarised zone, the heavily armed border separating the two Koreas, in a highly symbolic move.

Arrangements for North Korean athletes to compete in Pyeongchang have been made at breakneck speed since the start of the year, when North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, offered to send a delegation to the Games.

Yesterday North Korea and South Korea agreed to march under a joint flag at the opening ceremony in Pyeongchang and play with a unified women’s ice hockey team - a huge step forward for the peninsula.

However, despite these conciliatory moves, satellite images taken over the past few weeks indicate frantic preparations for a demonstration.

Image analysis by North Korean experts indicates an “upcoming military event or parade” is expected on February 8 - the day before the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics across the border.

Huge crowds of soldiers can be seen marching in formation, week after week, in preparation for some sort of demonstration next month.

On Saturday January 13, residents all across Hawaii received a text message at 8:07am stating that a ballistic missile was on it’s way to their island and advised they should take shelter immediately. With international tensions currently at a high, it’s no surprise that the warning was taken very, very seriously. We can’t begin to imagine what would go through someone’s mind after reading that message, but based purely on the traffic numbers, it’s NOT to be watching porn.

Based on real-time, per-minute pageviews, and compared to levels on the previous two Saturdays, our statisticians found a precipitous drop in traffic at 8:07am immediately after the warning was sent out. By 8:23am, traffic was a massive -77% below that of a typical Saturday. As residents were notified around 8:45 that the initial warning was sent in error, traffic began to return to normal and Hawaiians collectively breathed a sigh of relief. Those seeking further relief, headed back to Pornhub where pageviews surged +48% above typical levels at 9:01am.

North Korea's black hats launched at least six extensive malware campaigns mostly against South Korean targets during 2017.

That's the conclusion of Cisco's Talos Warren Mercer and Paul Rascagneres (with contributions from Jungsoo An), who spent the year watching goings-on on the Korean peninsula.

The researchers focussed on one North Korean organisation, which they dub Group 123, and its continuing campaigns against the South.

Remote Access Trojans – RATs – are Group 123's favourite approach, with three phishing campaigns (“Golden Time”, “Evil New Year” and “North Korean Human Rights”) working to deliver ROKRAT to targets.

At least two of those campaigns were published by Talos at the time, but without a firm attribution to North Korea.

The three campaigns tried to get users to infect themselves with a payload in the Hancom Hangul Office Suite, South Korea's market leader, exploiting vulnerabilities such as the CVE-2013-0808 EPS viewer bug to pull down the RAT.

That's a rather old vulnerability, so when CVE-2017-0199 (arbitrary code execution from a crafted file) landed, the Norks hackers got to work. In less than a month, Talos said, Group 123 launched the FreeMilk campaign against financial institutions from beyond the Korean peninsula.

A binary called Freenki (sometimes called by another binary, PoohMilk) then hauled down a ROKRAT-like trojan.

Finally, the “Are You Happy” campaign [surely you didn't really fall for that in the e-mail subject line? - Ed] was simply destructive: it deployed a module from ROKRAT to wipe the first sectors of the victim's hard drive.

Oh, and happy 2018: on January 2 this year, Group 123 ushered in the new year with a redux of its Evil New Year campaign. This time, the Talos post noted, the malware-slingers are trying to evade detection with a fileless version of ROKRAT.

kevät tai alkukesä on sodan aikaa jos sille tielle päätyvät. Varmasti jenkit keräävät dataa oikein urakalla kokoajan. Liekö X-47 saanut tehtäviä jo. Tosin P-korean ilmatilassa Global hawkin saattaa selvitä. Eiväthän ne huomanneet edes jenkkien pommikoneiden harjoitusta.

South Korea is facing a public backlash over its sports rapprochement with North Korea, with critics accusing the government of turning next month’s Pyeongchang Winter Olympics into the “Pyongyang Olympics”.

After three high-level meetings along their border in little over a week, North and South Korea have proposed forming a joint women’s ice hockey team and allowing their athletes to march together under one flag at next month’s games in South Korea.

Despite the logistical challenges posed by North Korea’s eleventh-hour agreement to compete in Pyeongchang, the International Olympic Committee is expected to give the proposal a sympathetic hearing when it meets officials from both countries in Lausanne on Saturday.

But young people and conservatives in South Korea have accused the country’s president, Moon Jae-in, of sacrificing Olympic ideals for diplomatic expediency.

Moon’s approval rating fell to a four-month low of 67% on Friday, in a reflection of the public’s lukewarm response to his attempts to promote an Olympic détente he hopes will lead to a diplomatic breakthrough over Pyongyang’s ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programmes.

Moon’s approval rating among people in their 20s and 30s – his core support – fell to 75% and 82% respectively, down six percentage points and seven percentage points from last week.

“North Korea was all about firing missiles last year, but suddenly they want to come to the South for the Olympics? Who gets to decide that?,” said Kim Joo-hee, a 24-year-old Seoul resident. “Does North Korea have so much privilege to do whatever they want?”

China officials denied reality in December despite being "caught red handed" selling sanctions-defying oil to North Korea. However, the denials might be harder to justify, as WSJ reports citing satellite photographs and intelligence gathered by U.S. officials, at least six Chinese-owned or operated cargo ships violated UN sanctions against North Korea.

No voi kyrvän nuppi.

The spill from a sunken Iranian tanker off China’s east coast has more than trebled in size, just over a week after the ship sank in a ball of flames.

Authorities by Sunday had surveyed three oil slicks with a total surface area of 332 sq km (128 square miles), compared with the 101 sq km seen last Wednesday, China’s State Oceanic Administration said in a statement.

The Sanchi was carrying 136,000 tonnes of light crude oil from Iran when it collided with Hong Kong-registered bulk freighter the CF Crystal in early January, setting off a desperate race by authorities to search for survivors and stave off a massive environmental catastrophe.

The bodies of only three of the ship’s 30 Iranian and two Bangladeshi crew members have been found.

Three coast guard vessels were on the scene on Sunday night assessing the spill, the Oceanic Administration said.

The type of condensate oil carried by the Sanchi does not form a traditional surface slick when spilt but is nonetheless highly toxic to marine life and much harder to separate from water. The cargo amounted to nearly one million barrels of oil.

The area where the ship went down is an important spawning ground for species like the swordtip squid and wintering ground for species like the yellow croaker fish and blue crab, among many others, according to Greenpeace.

It is also on the migratory pathway of numerous marine mammals, such as humpback and grey whales.

Noihin pitäisi vaan iskeä sillai näppärästi. Isolla jytkyllä, ettei kukaan ehdi raportoida iskua. Alukset vaan katoaisivat olemasta..

North Korean numbers station V15 on 6400 kHz, AM mode. North Korean V15 was inactive from early 2001 to mid 2016. On its return in 2016 it used a new format, but is still transmitted on PBS (Pyongyang BS). It appears to be transmitted on all PBS frequencies simultaneously, including the VHF FM frequencies. V15 has a regular schedule on alternating Saturday mornings at 1515 UTC and Thursdays at 1615 UTC.

Recorded at my location in the Mojave Desert, California, USA, on Saturday, 20 January, 2018, 1515 UTC.
