Gazprom reduced gas production in the first half of 2023 to 179 billion cubic meters. m, which was a decrease of 25% compared to the same period last year. This is evidenced by data from the company's report published on September 28.
“Based on the results of the first half of 2023, the production of natural and associated gas by the Gazprom Group in the Russian Federation amounted to 179.45 billion cubic meters. m. The decrease in the group’s gas production is due to the adoption in a number of countries of politically motivated decisions aimed at refusing to import Russian gas,” the document says.
The report also discloses data on gas supplies to domestic and foreign markets. According to the company, 166 billion cubic meters were supplied at the beginning of 2023. m of gas, while in the first half of 2022 this figure amounted to 225.7 billion cubic meters. m.
It is noted that gas consumption was influenced by weather, economic and geopolitical conditions. In particular, low values remained due to the slowdown in economic activity in Europe. As for the Russian market, Gazprom characterizes the situation there as milder temperature conditions compared to the same period in 2022.
The company also disclosed information about supplies to China. According to the report, pipeline gas supplies to China in the first half of 2023, in accordance with the requests of the Chinese side, were regularly carried out in excess of the contractual obligations of Gazprom PJSC.
