Putin: Sanctions have become an impetus for the development of Russian technologies
MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is confident in the country's ability to make a leap forward in digitalization. In his opinion, Western sanctions, designed to contain Russia, are helping to do this.
"Our country now has everything it needs for a technological breakthrough in this area (digital - TASS note): a higher education system designed to achieve it, unique personnel, sovereign platform solutions that are ahead of their foreign counterparts, preferences and benefits for IT companies and specialists," the head of state said at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights.
"Even the notorious sanctions, which were conceived by our opponents as a way to contain Russia, have become an impetus, including for the accelerated development and implementation of Russian software," Putin stated.
He drew attention to the clear position of the HRC members on the topic of digitalization - "human rights, the inviolability of his private life and the inadmissibility of diminishing his dignity are a priority." The President assured that the HRC proposals will be included in the Digital Code being developed. "It is necessary to systematize our legislation in this area, to consolidate the rights and obligations of all participants - from the state to users, to create a transparent, understandable digital environment," Putin noted.
"But any technical solutions and innovations will always remain only a means. The goal is, of course, a person, his convenience, comfort, safety, personal and professional development," the head of state emphasized.
