MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. The government has decided to eliminate import duties on petroleum products until mid-2026 as part of a series of measures to stabilize the fuel market in Russia. This was announced by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Economic conditions have been created for the import of motor gasoline by eliminating import duties until mid-2026, and decisions have been made to ensure damping payments on imported fuel. Cooperation with partners in supplying gasoline to the Russian market has been ensured," he said.
Another measure was the use of previously accumulated fuel reserves at refineries and oil depots. A decision was made to postpone scheduled refinery maintenance, Tsivilev noted.
Other measures include extending the ban on motor gasoline exports for all market participants, including producers, until the end of the year. Authorities have also imposed a ban on diesel fuel exports for all market participants except producers, also until the end of 2025, the Energy Minister said.
"Currently, the following additional measures are being implemented: adjusting the rules for exchange trading to prevent speculative increases in fuel prices in the wholesale segment, coordinating logistics, and accelerating fuel deliveries to all regions, as well as for agricultural producers," Tsivilev added.
Alongside these measures, he noted, comprehensive work is underway to strengthen the security of fuel and energy facilities.
