Andrei Tarasenkokin ihmettelee tätä outoa T-62 modernisointia, hänelläkään ei ole selitystä sille miksi näin on päätetty toimia:
About this and post Soviet T-55/62 upgrades. Recently appeared on battlefield – “Super-T-62M” old metal-polymer block on the hull, sides from T-72B3/90M, turret ERA from T-90M, "Sosna-U", navigation, etc.... And, judging by the weather, it's not April 1.
But this is not the most strange upgrades of old tanks. There were various projects of quite optimal modernization - installation of "Relict" on T-55 or 62, slight improvement of FCS and mobility - see T-55AM (T-55M5) (https://btvtinfo.blogspot.com/2017/08/55-555.html).
In the wild 90's there were also bizarre projects such as hybrid T-55 (chassis), T-72B (turret, it was put because a new "unified turret" with bustle autoloader was not ready) and T-80 (front pair of rollers) - hybrid T-55 with T-72 and "Black Eagle" (https://btvtinfo.blogspot.com/2019/06/55-72.html).
