Serial production of the Su-27
Serial production [ 9 ] of the T-10 was planned from the very beginning at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yu. A. Gagarin of the 1st Main Directorate of the USSR Ministry of Aviation Industry, the open name of this enterprise at that time was P.O. Box M-5873.
Preparations for the production of the T-10 at KNAAZ began in 1976. The first serial Su-27S was manufactured in 1980, and its first flight was performed in April 1981. The Su-27S aircraft entered mass production in 1985. About 600 of these aircraft were manufactured over 10 years, until 1992.
In the period 1992-96, 14 Su-27M were built, in 1992-2010 - 50 Su-27SK and -SKM, that is, the total number of serial Su-27 is about 664 machines. Later, Su-30, Su-33, Su-35 were built in small series (see separate articles).

The construction of prototypes of the MiG-29 fighter began in
1975. The following year, the design was successfully defended, and a mock-up of the aircraft was presented to the customer for review. The assembly of the first prototype was completed in August.
In total, 6 prototypes and 8 aircraft from the pilot batch, built in 1977-1982 in the pilot production of the Mikoyan Machine Building Plant and the Dementyev Aviation Production Association, where it was planned to launch production of the new fighters, took part in the flight tests of the MiG-29. The last aircraft from the pilot batch became the standard for serial production, which began in
1982 .
Based on the results of flight tests, successfully completed in October
1983 , no significant changes were required in the aerodynamic configuration and design of the aircraft. By the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of June 11,
1987 , the MiG-29 aircraft was accepted into service
with the Air Force of the Soviet Union . By this time, the fighter was already well mastered in combat units: the first machines of this type entered service in the summer of 1983.
