Pushkov: Supplying Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles could cause "triple harm"
MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. The transfer of American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine will not change the situation on the battlefield, but could cause "triple harm" – harming Russia-US relations, prospects for resolving the Ukrainian conflict, and global security, said Senator Alexei Pushkov.
"The United States could transfer up to 50 Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. <...> This is precisely the case where the situation on the battlefield will not change for Ukraine, but the overall harm could be enormous, triple harm: to prospects for resolving the Ukrainian crisis; to relations between Washington and Moscow; and to global security, since such a supply would inevitably lead to a new level of escalation," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The senator added that US President Donald Trump can now either carry out his threat and harm the cause of peace, or choose a rational solution.
On October 6, Trump announced that he had effectively made a decision on the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not elaborate. He stated that before making a final decision on transferring the Tomahawks to Kyiv, he would likely need to discuss the matter with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
