Country of the day: Transnistria
There have been speculations about the preparations of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania to attack the PMR.
@nsnfm Vladimir Prokhvatilov: Ukraine's attack on Transnistria is the number one danger. For Russia, this is dangerous, because there are gigantic warehouses, a huge amount of ammunition.
If the Armed Forces of Ukraine capture this, they will be able to fight for a year without any help from the West.
@suzdaltsevIntervention will not give arguments to the Russian side. NATO will support the invasion and will position it as support for the sovereignty of Moldova. Everything will end in tragedy, as it is clear that the Russian base will not surrender.
@bovdunov The question is,
what does Kiev and the West behind it need: demonstrative humiliation of Russia in the form of defeating a group in Transnistria or
weapons from the same warehouse in Kolbasna? Approaches may be different. And forceful pressure, and threats, and a real invasion.
@obrazbuduschego2 The attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Transnistria is impossible as an act of aggression. The authorities of Transnistria are almost completely dependent on Ukrainian business. Therefore, the risks of a military conflict in the PMR are minimal, since Russia has long lost control over the republic.
@anatoly_nesmiyanIf such an operation is successful, there will immediately be a temptation to close all existing similar problems with the same force. This is the rest of Karabakh, this is both South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
