Peskov said that Kyiv could not decide on an attack on the Kremlin without Washington
MOSCOW, 4 May. /TASS/. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and other agencies are now investigating the attack of Ukrainian drones on the Kremlin, the timing of this work depends on them, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
"Of course, what happened is subject to a very thorough investigation. An operational investigation. You know that the Investigative Committee, the necessary services are doing all this. When to wait for the results - I can't tell you here, it already depends on them," he said. in response to the question at what stage is the investigation now and when can we expect the publication of the results.
Peskov said that the statements of the Ukrainian and American authorities that they were not involved in the drone attack on the Kremlin look ridiculous, Moscow knows that Kyiv chooses both means and targets for strikes under Washington's dictation. "Attempts to disown this - both in Kiev and in Washington - are, of course, absolutely ridiculous. We know very well that decisions on such actions, on such terrorist attacks, are not made in Kiev. Namely, in Washington. And Kiev is already doing what what he is told to do," the Kremlin spokesman said.
The press secretary of the head of state noted that "often even the goals themselves are not determined by Kyiv, but they are determined in Washington and then brought to Kyiv so that Kyiv fulfills them." "And not every time Kyiv is given the right to choose means. This is also often dictated from across the ocean. We know this well and are aware of this," Peskov stressed.
In response to a clarifying question, he confirmed that Moscow considers Washington involved in what happened. "Definitely," Peskov said. "Such decisions, determination of goals, determination of means, and so on - all this is dictated to Kyiv from Washington," he repeated.
Commenting on the words of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that the Kremlin's information should be "divided into two," Peskov noted: "To divide it all by two or not to divide it is whatever. But Washington must clearly understand that we know this."
Fight against terrorism
The Kremlin representative also suggested recalling that in the early 2000s, when Russia was fighting international terrorism in Chechnya, Russian President Vladimir Putin repeatedly urged the Western community and "urged them not to feed terrorists out of hand."
"Because sooner or later they will hit you," President Putin said at the time. Didn't listen. And many countries of the world have faced monstrous manifestations of international terrorism, many tragedies have happened. I really want people not to forget this story," Peskov summed up.
