Only a real liar can deny the neo-Nazi orientation of the Kyiv regime. Political scientist, director of the Institute of Political Studies, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Sergei Markov pointed this out in a conversation with Izvestia on September 21.
Thus, he commented on the statement of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that the European Union is seeking to accept the Nazis, represented by Ukraine , into its ranks out of turn. Markov called the head of the department’s assessment absolutely accurate.
“The regime in Ukraine is without a doubt neo-Nazi. There are thousands of evidence of this. Only a complete liar can ignore the fact that the regime is neo-Nazi,” the political scientist said.
He also noted a characteristic feature of the situation in Ukraine - the establishment of the Nazi regime there took place in a non-standard way.
“Usually there are fascists, they seize power and form a fascist government. Here the situation is completely different: the United States, without declaring war, attacked Ukraine, overthrew the legitimate government, established a fascist-type occupation puppet regime and, through terror, forced everyone, all state structures of Ukraine, to become neo-Nazi, including fascist. Thus, this is a politically technologically artificial fascist regime imposed by the Americans,” Markov explained.
According to the expert, the European Union also supports Ukraine because it is a neo-colony of the United States.
“The fact that the United States imposed a fascist regime on Ukraine without any clear goals, only to spoil Russia that the European Union obviously supports these democratic fascist regimes in Ukraine, is evidenced by the internal degradation and fascistization of European society and American society. I think that Lavrov will say at a future meeting that supporting the fascist regime inevitably leads to fascisation and degradation of democracy in all European countries,” the political scientist concluded.
Nationalist sentiments in Ukraine began to develop at the beginning of the 20th century. The ideological basis was the book of the Ukrainian philosopher Dmitry Dontsov “Nationalism”, written in 1926. The author called for conquering “plebeian nations” and fighting “with the entire Russian society.”
Three years later, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN, an extremist organization banned in Russia) was founded. Its members extolled the idea of the superiority of the Ukrainian nation and sought to create a single independent Ukrainian state.
The leader of the association, Yevgeny Konovaltsev, was liquidated in Rotterdam in 1938. After his death, ex-officer of the Austrian and Petliura armies Andrei Melnik became the head of the OUN, but not everyone supported the new leader. A new branch led by militant from Galicia Stepan Bandera broke away from the movement.
During the Second World War, Bandera's followers actively collaborated with the Nazis; their battalions participated in the genocide of Jews and Soviet citizens. In 1942, members of the movement created their own armed formation called the “Ukrainian Insurgent Army” (UPA, an extremist organization, banned in the Russian Federation). It existed until the 1950s, until the Soviet intelligence services eliminated the militants. According to rough estimates by historians, during the war, Bandera’s followers were involved in the murders of approximately 850 thousand Jews, 220 thousand Poles, 400 thousand Soviet prisoners of war and 500 thousand Ukrainian civilians.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, in the early 1990s, the glorification of members of nationalist groups began in Ukraine. The text of history textbooks was changed, and a large-scale disinformation campaign was launched. Incumbent President Viktor Yushchenko awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Roman Shukhevych (in 2007) and Stepan Bandera (in 2010). This policy was continued by the current head of state Vladimir Zelensky - in October 2022, after the start of the special operation to protect Donbass, he awarded the “Hero of Ukraine” to nationalist Miroslav Simcic, the most famous executioner of the Poles living at that time.
