SEVASTOPOL, October 18. /TASS/. The Black Sea Fleet repels an air attack in the Sukharnaya Balka area in Sevastopol, all services are put on alert. The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced this in his Telegram channel .
“In the area of Sukharnaya Balka, our fleet is repelling an attack by air targets. All services are put on alert. There is smoke in the area of Sukharnaya Golovka, rescuers have already left for the site. Information about damage to the infrastructure is being clarified,” he wrote.
Razvozhaev said that, according to preliminary data, a missile was shot down in the Kara-Koba area, people and infrastructure were not damaged.
“According to preliminary data, a rocket was shot down in the Kara-Koba area, the warhead detonated on the ground in a field. No people were injured. There was no damage to the infrastructure,” he wrote.
He noted that no fire was recorded at the scene. All crews have been returned to their deployment points, but continue to be on high alert.
Sevastopol is the main base of the Black Sea Fleet; the city is periodically attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Thus, on September 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, but no civilians were injured. As reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the attack on the city, the air defense system shot down five missiles. Soon after this, Razvozhaev ordered to strengthen the air attack warning system.
