Another day of fighting for Bakhmut, today the TERRA unit provides offensive actions of the Armed Forces, battles are fought for every 100 meters of land, for every landing.

Small Drones & Loitering Munitions in Ukraine - The terrifying rise of cheap precision​

Description: While the news often focuses on the role of large, expensive systems in the Ukraine war (think of the attention given to tanks, aircraft, or MLRS and SAM systems in recent weeks and months) some of the most omnipresent and disruptive systems have actually been terrifyingly cheap and accessible.
Off-the-shelf commercial drones converted for military use have been deployed by the truckload, while some of Russia's more successful weapons have been comparatively cheap loitering munitions and kamikaze drones like the Iranian Shahed and Russian Lancet. Videos of equipment destroyed by drones that might cost a thousandth of the price have become image of the war across social media.
In this video, I examine the use of these (often civilian) systems in the war in Ukraine, look at international developments, and ask what lessons we can take from the terrifying rise of cheap sensor and cheaper precision on the battlefield.

Caveats and corrections: I mispronounce "Shahed" on several occasions I refer to the Mavic 2 and 3 together - they are not comparable, with the 3 being far more common as a drone supplied to lower level units in Ukraine I refer to to the saturation of drones across the front - I should clarify that the reporting on that point is anecdotal and may only relate to specific sections of the front where drone activity is that its most dense. I also wish to be clear that I do not at all endorse the modification or use of drones for purposes other than those legally allowable in your jurisdiction.

Cossack drive: special forces of the National Guard destroy the enemy in the direction of Bakhmut

Special unit "Omega" of the Eastern Territorial Administration of the National Guard of Ukraine continues to destroy the occupiers in Donetsk region.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction. Battles continue continuously, the fighters already have a significant amount of destroyed manpower and enemy equipment.

Operational information as of 06.00 on 13.02.2023 regarding the Russian invasion

Glory to Ukraine! The three hundred and fifty-fifth day of the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy will suffer significant losses, especially in manpower. He concentrates his main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupyan, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiiv and Novopavliv directions.

Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine have repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of Hryanikyvka settlements of the Kharkiv region; Kreminna and Bilogorivka in Luhansk Oblast; Viymka, Fedorivka, Vasyukivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region and Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia.

At the same time, the enemy launched 4 missile strikes and fired 85 shots from rocket salvo systems. The threat of further Russian air and missile strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

In the Volyn, Polis, Siver, and Slobozhan directions, there were no significant changes, and no signs of the formation of offensive groups were detected. Areas of 18 settlements were hit by enemy shelling. Among them are Tovstodubov, Bachivsk, Basivka and Popivka in Sumy Oblast and Krasne, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Figolivka, Novomlynsk and Dvorichna in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk and Lymansk directions, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of 22 districts of populated areas. In particular, these are Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Pischane and Berestovka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilogorivka in the Luhansk region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, tanks, mortars, and artillery shelled, in particular, Spirne, Vasyukivka, Ivano-Daryivka, Paraskoviivka, Zaliznianske, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Stupochki, and Klishchiivka. In total, there are 16 settlements.

On the Avdiyiv and Novopavliv areas, areas of 25 settlements, including Tonenky, Avdiyivka, Pervomaisky, Zolota Niva, Nevelsky, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Prechistivka, and Bogoyavlenka of the Donetsk region, came under tank, mortar, and artillery shelling.

In the Zaporozhye direction, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region were affected by fire; Gulyaipole, Stepove, Olhivske, Novodanilivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Stepnohirsk and Charivne in the Zaporizhia region and Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

In the Kherson direction, Kherson was affected by enemy artillery fire, as well as the districts of 20 settlements, in particular, Mylove, Zmiivka, Respublikanets, Novokairy, Vesele, Mykilske, Antonivka, and Dniprovske of the Kherson region.

To strengthen counter-subversive measures in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region, the enemy sent about 200 soldiers of the Russian Guard there. They were resettled on the territory of the Seagull recreation center in the village of Lazurne, and for the safety of the occupiers, the movement of local residents in the village is restricted.

Due to the low level of provision of winter uniforms, since January of this year, the number of servicemen of the Russian occupation forces with signs of frostbite has increased significantly. Thus, in the medical facilities of Horlivka, Donetsk region, the number of patients with such a diagnosis is up to 30 percent of all wounded.

During the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine made 8 strikes on areas where the occupiers are concentrated, as well as 3 strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. Our rocket launchers and gunners hit 10 manpower concentration areas, 1 anti-aircraft defense position and 3 enemy ammunition depots.

In addition, last day, our soldiers eliminated about 560 Russian occupiers, 3 tanks, 4 armored fighting vehicles, 3 artillery systems and two units each of automobile and special equipment.

Mobile fire groups stand to protect the Ukrainian sky and effectively strengthen anti-aircraft defense during large-scale shelling. The Security Service stopped a large-scale fraudulent scheme that allowed to "rob" Ukrainian banks. Dilki worked in the interests of the Russian Federation and tried to withdraw almost 100 million hryvnias in favor of the aggressor.

A criminal group from temporarily occupied Donetsk, which operated under the coordination of the Russian special services, was involved in the organization of the operation, and its leader is a close entourage of the terrorist Pushilin.

Criminals contacted Ukrainian banks by phone allegedly on behalf of account holders and gained access to online banking.

Client bases of captured branches in Mariupol and special equipment for changing call routing were used for "identification".

These were the personal data of almost 4,000 local residents, including those who died or were forcibly deported to the Russian Federation and had savings in financial institutions in the territory controlled by Ukraine.

To hide the traces of the crime, the participants of the scheme "converted" the stolen money into cryptocurrency.

For the mass "calling" of Ukrainian banks, the organizers of the scheme used a call center in Donetsk, whose employees, through the "Internet" network and special equipment on the territory of Ukraine, contacted the relevant institutions allegedly on behalf of the real owners of the accounts.

Dozens of residents from different regions of Ukraine were involved in the maintenance of special equipment, who carried out the instructions of their managers "in the dark".

As a result of investigative and operational actions, the SBU discovered and blocked the bank accounts and crypto wallets of members of the criminal group.

During the searches in 8 regions of our country, computer equipment was seized, which ensured the execution of procedures.

A seizure was also imposed on funds obtained through criminal means, in the total amount of almost UAH 65 million.

In addition, it was established that the perpetrators robbed Russian citizens according to the same scheme, "withdrawing" their money in the crypto wallet of the leadership of the terrorist organization "DNR" and supervisors from the FSB.

As part of the criminal proceedings, comprehensive measures are being taken to prosecute all the organizers of the scheme.

The investigation of the crime was carried out by investigators of the SBU of Kyiv and Kyiv region under the operational support of the National Statehood Protection Department of the Security Service and the procedural management of the Office of the General Prosecutor and the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

How Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed the "Terminator" BMPT

Recently, the mass media reported on the destruction by paratroopers of the vaunted modern Russian tank support vehicle "Terminator".

Defense of Chernihiv: a pain in invaders' neck​

Chernihiv became a northern outpost during the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine. The regional center stands on the road between the Russian Federation and the Ukrainian capital, where columns of Russian troops tried to break through to Kyiv.
But the invaders did not take into account that the Chernihiv garrison able to give a decent fight.

After several unsuccessful attempts to storm the city, the Russian occupation forces suffered losses in machines and manpower, retreated and began shelling Chernihiv with heavy weapons: razing it to the ground. Strategic infrastructure came under attack. Almost immediately, the city was left without water, electricity, and communications. Later the enemy destroyed all evacuation ways for the civilians, shelled residential buildings, hotels, hospitals, and even a cemetery and a stadium.

Among the defenders of the city were servicemen of the Chernihiv Battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine. They defended the city from the north and northeast, evacuated civilians during enemy shelling. The guardian medics provided medical assistance to everyone who needed it.

The siege of Chernihiv lasted from the beginning of the full-scale invasion until the 2nd of April.
