Gangs of juvenile offenders are terrorizing the regions of Russia. Teenagers kill, rape and attack policemen. They call their movement AUE
AUE is the curse of modern youth, a contagious disease that increasingly captures children and sprawls from one region to another. This abbreviation came from the prison world and means "the prisoner's way of life is one" or "the prisoner's uncivilized unity". Having spread first in special institutions and orphanages to "warm the zones" (to collect money for them in obshchak), criminal ideology was thrown at ordinary schools.
The youth in the AUA attracts the romanticized spirit of the criminal world, almost the Musketeer "one for all and all for one", and a riot against law enforcement agencies that allows teenagers to feel modern Robin Hoods. If before schoolchildren fanateli from the subculture emo and ready, now their idols are prison characters.
Every year, a dangerous subculture involves more and more adherents in its networks. They enthusiastically comprehend the habits and norms of behavior of prisoners, beat and rape peers and even come into collisions with guardians of order. Identify representatives of the AUE and somehow try to influence them hard: the children consider their participation in this movement a secret and severely punish those who went against it.

Recently, "Novaya Gazeta" has resulted in a whole list of
crimes and Apogroms , which in recent years have been arranged by AUE children. These facts shock and make you think about how things can end if the problem fails to be resolved in time.
For the first time the mysterious abbreviation thundered in 2010, when riots broke out in the Belorechensky educational colony in Krasnodar region, and the teenagers shouted "Aue!". Later, there were riots in the vocational school No. 6 in Chita, which the authorities also associated with the AUE. And in 2013, during the march on Victory Day in the village of Maly Kunaley in Buryatia, three orphans (two with a criminal record and one under investigation) threw policemen with stones - three order guards received serious injuries.
Or here is another example of the "brotherhood" of juvenile criminals, about which the head of the temporary police department "Arakhleyskoe" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Chita district Taras Yakovenko said:
-All began with the fact that the "salon" climbed on the recreation center in the car of one of the tourists. The owner of the car detained the intruder, my partner and I were next to him. When they began to put on the suspect handcuffs, he began to shout: "Aye! Thieves freedom! "Immediately, about ten people came running, they tried to attack me and my partner. I had to shoot in the air, call the riot police.

There are cases and completely creepy. In Yudino (a neighborhood of Kazan), 16-year-olds with older companions tried to get money out of their peers. On the arrow, he came with his father, - describes the further "Novaya Gazeta", - they killed both of them, took away the keys to the apartment, went in, finished with his mother, took away household appliances. Later it turned out that they had killed two taxi drivers.
Or here is Buryatia. Public figure Dora Hamaganov, who is cited by Novaya Gazeta:
- Yesterday evening, a 12-year-old boy from the Soviet district of Ulan-Ude said. His friend, also a 12-year-old, is tormented by scumbags 14-15 years old, beaten, demanded a "tribute". On the "griv", on the "zone". And he, who came with his mother from a rural district, alone, defenseless, brings them 5-100 rubles each. The guy is bruised, bullied. He said he wants to hang himself. Mother all the time at work in one of the retail chains. Gets a penny. If only to survive, pay for rented accommodation, support a family, children. And what to do, to intervene? Come with the police? They will catch up with him in the evenings.
And here are the latest cases, 2016. The city of Khilok in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Drunken internatants, rescuing the detained drunken friend, smashed the windows in police cars and tore off the sign from the site. In the village of Novopavlovka in the same Trans-Baikal region, parents rebelled against extortion of money from ninth-graders and lynched over members of the AUU.
But this was followed by reprisals against those who got out of their control and again storming the police station with the release of the criminal. And as a result of everything - statements about the insurgent parents and the criminal case against them. Or another example - Chita, a troubled village KSK. Two teenagers stabbed a 17-year-old schoolmate at night school, and at the same time his mother for fear that she saw whom the son went to the staircase with whom he went.

But how does the secret community of juvenile criminals live and function, where they find "fresh blood" and how they recruit new supporters? The journalists of Novaya Gazeta managed to find out how the newcomers are drawn into the AUU. Five high school or six-year-olds are suitable for two high school students and they tell us about thieves' arrogance about "Zonovskaya romance", "concepts" and offer to bring money for the obshchak. To do this, it is suggested to do something like this - steal, deceive parents or beat money from a peer. And the neophyte is taken lightly and presented to him as an act worthy according to the concepts of the right person. So gradually adolescents join the criminal world, and at the same time learn to deal with peers who do not want to live by concepts. As a result, some victims despair to get rid of extortion and go to suicide.
Do the state and law enforcement bodies know about this problem? They know, but can not fundamentally change the situation. Maybe, as it usually happens in Russia, they are swaying for a long time, and maybe they consider it not the most important task. But anyway, the problem was already talking about the public. Yana Lantratova, a member of the presidential council for human rights and civil society development, who spoke of the danger of AUE to the whole country, called AUU a threat to Russia's national security. It was in December 2016 at a meeting with Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
"The topic that requires immediate resolution is the criminal subculture of the AUE," the public figure said at the time. "A person is sitting in prison and he has his own" watchers "in the wild and communicate with the children, with adolescents in social institutions, and establish their own orders. Both children and teenagers are forced to take the so-called obshchak for the zone. And if a child can not turn in money or can not steal and commit any crime, he goes into the category of "lowered" - he has a separate school desk, a separate tableware, it can be beaten, it can be raped.
Lantratova told the president about "safe houses", where representatives of the AUE meet and where they invite newcomers to be involved in the criminal movement. In these apartments there are alcohol and drugs and these dens are called "in-boxes". In order to "fit" there, you have to pay for entertainment with your own body, and speech in this case often refers to children of 11-14 years old.
The public did not manage to stop at the fact that a lot of help in spreading the ideology of AUU among teenagers is played by groups in social networks. The number of their subscribers is tens, and sometimes hundreds of thousands of people, and a considerable part - children.
"These are high-quality video materials, these are soundtracks, recorded songs and souvenir products that are produced by these groups, which gives us an understanding that big money and interested people are behind it," Lantratova said.
For many, the speech of the human rights defender seems to have become a revelation. Even Vladimir Putin did not comment on it, but simply asked Lantratov to hand over all the developments for consideration. In January 2017, the president instructed the creation of an interdepartmental group to prevent the criminalization of the teenage environment. The Russian Orthodox Church joined in. But while her assistance was reduced to the proposal to close the social groups with blatant romance, as it was done with "death groups".
The AUE theme reached the State Duma in June this year, where law enforcement officials discussed it with the deputies. However, it turned out that the Interior Ministry and the Investigative Committee had a diametrically opposite view of the problem and a different assessment of the threat to society. Thus, the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Evgeni Dubov, clearly tried to play down the danger and brought AUU to the slogan that teenagers had read on the Internet and shouted, often not understanding its meaning. These words aroused the angry reaction of the assistant to the chairman of the SK RF Igor Komissarov.
- We, probably, live with you in a parallel world. I do not know where you work, but you absolutely can not imagine the situation that is happening. I am ready to answer for my words. The situation was born - how many there - about six years ago, when I arrived in Chelyabinsk, I apologize, to the Trans-Baikal Territory, where a nine-year-old boy was subjected to systematic sexual violence. Here there were school notebooks, where it was written: poslozhenets, looking, a thief in law. Not only this child, it turned out that every child in the orphanage. A lot of officials from the Trans-Baikal Territory, including the former governor, arrived. I'm generally asked: what so many cars came? I say, you know, there is an emergency happened here, a child of a juvenile was raped here in a boarding school. They say to me: you know, at each school there are tables for the lowered in the Trans-Baikal Territory. That's all confirmed. The fact that in every school there is a general. Why do not you know about this? You work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, "remarked Komissarov indignantly.
- According to the estimates of the Presidential Council for Human Rights, AUE has influence among children and adolescents in 18 regions of Russia, including Buryatia, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk and Tver regions, as well as in the Trans-Baikal and Stavropol Territories.
- Experts have put forward different theories of the proliferation of AUC in the last decade. According to one of them, the movement has continuity in relation to the spread of criminal concepts among adolescents in the 1950-1960s. On the other - there are 20-year cycles of growth of juvenile delinquency and the spread of "thieves' romance", which coincide with the weakening of legislation.
- Teenage crime is widespread in many countries. Analogues of AUE exist in Latin America and the United States. For example, the Mara Salvatrucha group, according to the FBI estimates, has about 70,000 members (according to other estimates, up to 300,000), mostly young people aged 16-18. In the European Union in recent years, the spread of youth gangs of migrants.
