What is known about the Superjet 100 crash near Kolomna
The Superjet 100 crashed in the Kolomna urban district of the Moscow region, emergency services reported. It was flying from an aircraft factory near Lukhovitsy to Vnukovo.
There was only a crew of three on board, and they died.

Circumstances of the crash
-The Superjet 100 crashed in the Kolomna urban district of the Moscow region, in a forest belt near the village of Bolshoye Karasyevo. It was in the air for more than an hour before the crash.
-The emergency occurred during a test flight after a scheduled repair. The plane was supposed to land at Vnukovo. The Superjet 100 managed to send a distress signal.
-The Superjet 100 exploded and caught fire upon impact with the ground.
-Emergency services have named engine failure as a possible cause of the plane crash.
-Rostec believes that the situation with the SSJ crash is not obvious. According to the state corporation, the reasons may be different.
Who was on board

-The emergency services specified that these were pilots of the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company. They were flying over from Zhukovsky Airport.

What is known about the plane
-According to preliminary data, the plane that crashed was a civilian airline, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported.
-The department clarified that this was not about the import-substituting Sukhoi Superjet 100 New-95 aircraft, which was undergoing flight tests in the Zhukovsky area.
-The crashed plane was manufactured in 2014, aviation services told TASS. In 2015, it was transferred to Gazprom, which was its sole operator. It was leased.
-The aircraft became the 78th Superjet produced and the 72nd serially produced. Its airworthiness certificate expired in 2030. The aircraft made its first commercial flight in 2016, and its penultimate flight was on May 3, 2024, from Vnukovo.
Investigation of the incident
-Kolomna Mayor Alexander Grechishchev went to the crash site. He asked residents to remain calm.
-The Interstate Aviation Committee will investigate the incident with the participation of specialists from the Federal Air Transport Agency.
-A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and the operation of air transport, resulting through negligence in the death of two or more persons).
-The acting head of the department, as well as investigators and forensic investigators, went to the crash site.
-The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Dmitry Yadrov, flew to the scene of the crash.
