"They're transporting us like cattle": Russians are shocked by trains heading to the Black Sea
Russian tourists are shocked by the old carriages of trains that travel to the Black Sea. Even ancient, smelly carriages are released for the trip. This is written by SOCHI1.RU, whose journalist herself traveled in such carriages and talked to other passengers.
The tourists called their trip to the sea a complete torture. Alla and Vladimir were traveling to Sochi from Samara on vacation in exactly this old carriage.
They said that they were horrified by the rotten smell when they boarded the train. And then they were stunned by the pillows, which were scary to lie down on even with a pillowcase.
"It's so dirty you can't wash it off, it stinks, the sockets are like the ones at my dacha, twisted against the wall, the night light doesn't work. They're transporting us like cattle," said Samara resident Alla.
According to her, the carriage also had an ancient toilet with an iron pedal, and there was no soap or paper pads in any of the toilets. And the tickets were not cheap, costing more than 14,000 rubles for two.
The retired Vasiliev couple boarded a train in Krasnodar and could not contain their indignation. The compartment was so dirty that it was unpleasant even to get on.
The Morozov family, who were traveling to Sochi from Nizhnevartovsk with three children, complained about the old carriage, in which the air conditioner either blew a deathly cold blast, or was simply turned off when passengers were freezing, but then it became unbearably hot.
In the end, everyone arrived at the resort with a cold; two children developed otitis, and the youngest son had tonsillitis.
Chairman of the Union of Russian Passengers Kirill Yankov, in a conversation with a correspondent for the publication, noted that the shortage of train tickets to the south arose primarily because the airports were closed, and at the same time the flow of vacationers abroad decreased.
According to the expert, most passengers, when faced with the dilemma of whether to travel in an old carriage or not to travel at all, will choose the former. And only the opening of airports will help solve the problem.
