En ole vielä kerennyt katsomaan tuota uutta sarjaa, missä sen sitten näkisikään, mutta olin niin tyytyväinen kun kuulin sen takaisin tulemisesta. Nyt vain pitää toivoa, että tekijät eivät ole ruvenneet suvakeiksi ja ruvenneet nössöilemään ideologian nimissä. Tuo oli "Yes Minister" sarjan ohella sellainen sarja johon pääsemisestä poliitikot yms. pelkäsivät ja uneksivat. Huumori oli nimittäin erittäin raakaa, eikä säästellyt ketään.

Tony Chung, a 19-year-old Hong Kong activist on bail after his arrest on suspected national security offences, has been detained by authorities while attempting to seek asylum at the US consulate.

A spokesperson for Chung’s now disbanded activism group later said two other members, Yanni Ho and William Chan, were also arrested later on Tuesday.

According to the UK-based group, Friends of Hong Kong, Chung had gone to the US consulate in Hong Kong at 8.10am on Tuesday but it was closed for another 20 minutes. He called the organisation from a coffee shop less than 50 metres from the consulate, and said he had been followed by a man in a green shirt who he feared was a national security agent.

“About four minutes later we received reports from a passerby that Tony was snatched away from Pacific Coffee and led towards [a nearby government] building,” the spokesman said.

Local media, citing police sources, said he was being held at a central station. The South China Morning Post reported it witnessed Chung being led away from the coffee shop, flanked by two men.

China will sanction several major defence companies in retaliation for multibillion dollar US arms sales to Taiwan, the foreign ministry has announced.

Lockheed Martin, Boeing Defense, Space & Security and Raytheon were named as targets of the sanctions, as well as “the US individuals and entities who played an egregious role”, foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said at a regular press briefing on Monday, but did not provide further details.

It came in response to confirmation of a ninth US arms sale to Taiwan, a self-governing democracy which Beijing considers a rogue Chinese province under its one-China principle, and has never ruled out retaking control of by force.

Boeing Defense Space & Securityn tuotteet tuskin saisivat helposti vientilupaa Kiinaan joten siinä Kiinan sanktiot menee hukkaan. Sen sijaan sanktioiden ulkopuolelle jää Boeing Commercial Airplanes joten Kiina ostaa edelleenkin ihan rauhassa tarvitsemiaan matkustajakoneita Boeingilta.

Chinese police have arrested a man after he scattered a “heavenly rain of banknotes” on commuters from his apartment window while allegedly high on methamphetamine.
Police said the 29-year-old was “in a trance” after taking drugs at his home on the 30th floor of a building in Chongqing, in south-western China, when he began throwing cash out of the window to the streets below.

Local media reported the “heavenly rain of banknotes from the sky”, and a video of the 17 October incident has been viewed more than half a million times.
The footage shows traffic slowed to a crawl, or completely stopped in some sections, as dozens of people left their cars or walked onto the busy road to catch the banknotes.
Police were called and the man was taken into custody. The police said in a statement he had been detained for taking drugs and was under investigation and receiving treatment.
In 2017, also in Chongqing, a woman walked into traffic throwing bank notes behind her, prompting a police officer to pick them up as he followed her. Local media reported she told police she threw the 16,000 yuan (US$2,300) because she was in a bad mood.
Last year a man who threw 100,000 yuan into the air after having a bad day at work asked for people to return his money. Shishi city police in Fujian said the man’s actions caused a traffic jam and people fell over each other trying to grab the cash.

A Hong Kong court has denied bail to a 19-year-old activist who was arrested under the national security law while attempting to shelter inside the US consulate.

Tony Chung is the only the second of at least 27 people arrested under the law to be charged, and now faces prosecution for alleged crimes of secession, money laundering and conspiracy to publish seditious material. The last charge falls under colonial-era criminal laws.

Panssarivaunut piilotettiin roskakasaan – suurharjoitus Taiwanissa​

Valmiusharjoituksessa osa ajoneuvoista naamioitiin työmaakoneiden näköiseksi.

Taiwanin asevoimat on harjoitellut viime päivinä järjestetyssä valmiusoperaatiossa taistelua asutuskeskuksissa.

Maan asevoimien julkaisemissa kuvissa sotilasajoneuvoja on naamioitu poikkeuksellisen kekseliäillä tavoilla. Muun muassa sillan alle sijoitettuja M113-miehistönkuljetusvaunuja on piilotettu köynnöskasvien ja muun kasvillisuuden lomaan ja taistelupanssarivaunuja metalliromukasojen alle.
Monien panssariautojen kylkeen kiinnitettiin räikeän keltaisia levyjä, joilla jäljiteltiin nostureiden ja muiden työmaa-ajoneuvojen ulkoasua.

Taiwanin puolustusvoimien tiedottaja Shih Shun-wenin mukaan sotilaita oli kehotettu käyttämään hyödykseen kaupungista löytyviä rakenteita, kasvillisuutta ja muita erityispiirteitä. Viiden päivän valmiusharjoituksessa oli mukana myös ilma- ja merivoimien yksiköitä.

Taiwanin ja Kiinan väliset jännitteet ovat kasvaneet syksyn mittaan. Kiinan kansanarmeija julkaisi aiemmin provokatiivisena pidettyjä kuvia maihinnousuharjoituksen komentohuoneesta, jonka keskelle oli pystytetty tarkka pienoismalli Taiwanin saaresta.
Kiina on vahvistanut lähialueella sijaitsevia tukikohtiaan uusilla asejärjestelmillä ja venäläisvalmisteisilla S-400-ilmatorjuntaohjuksilla.

China’s military sent planes towards Taiwan on 25 of the 31 days of October, the highest frequency of the antagonistic sorties all year, a Taiwanese monitoring group has said.

The report comes as the Taiwanese government seeks to hose down reports that it is concerned at the prospect of Joe Biden becoming the next US president and taking a more conciliatory approach to China than Donald Trump.

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has ratcheted up military activity in and around the Taiwan Strait this year, amid increasing hostilities with Taiwan and the US. Beijing considers Taiwan to be a wayward province and has not ruled out taking it by force.

Citing a local monitoring group, Taiwan’s Liberty Times said the PLA had invaded Taiwan’s air identification zone on at least 25 days last month. Taiwan is building up its defence capabilities to discourage any possible cross-strait conflict, and has spent more than $1bn this year in scrambling jets to respond to the sorties towards and over the so-called “median line” in the Strait. But analysts say the prospect of defending itself against an invasion would rely on outside assistance.

Hong Kong’s government has won a temporary injunction that bans “doxxing”, the practice of publishing private information about an individual in the hope it causes them discomfort.

The Special Administrative Region’s Secretary for Justice applied to the High Court for the injunction to protect “Judicial Officers and their Families". As outlined in a statement, the government thinks a ban is needed because “Since June 2019, there have been numerous public order events in which, regrettably, a sizeable number of members of the public have been resorting to the use of violence purportedly as a way to express their dissatisfaction towards the Government, the Police, Judicial Officers and/or other members of the public holding views contrary to their own.”

“The social unrests have also given rise to a pervasive culture among netizens to ‘doxx’ those they disagree with, or those whose political stance or beliefs are in conflict with theirs. Doxxing activities against the Judicial Officers have been identified on social media platforms since November 2019, and such activities have worsened in recent months. These doxxing activities caused nuisance to the affected Judicial Officers and their family members.”

Niin ja kyllä Intiasta kokoajan viedään rautamalmia Kiinaan. Bisnes on bisnestä ja yritykset myy sille jolla on pätäkkää ja halua ostaa. Kyllä rahalle ottaja löytyy, ei epäilystäkään.

Eiköhän sille malmille löydy ostajia muualtakii tarvittaessa. Kiina pitää laittaa aisoihin ennen kuin on myöhäistä. Eivät todellakaan ole hyvät mielessä levittäytymässä ympäri palloa.

Kiina tuo huomattavia määriä ruokaa ulkomailta. Afrikasta ja Latinalaisesta-Amerikasta Kiina ostanut tai vuokrannut laajoja maa-alueita tuottamaan ruokaa Kiinaan vietäväksi. Esim. Argentiinassa Kiinaan vietävästä soijasta on tullut tärkein maataloustuote. Karjaa kasvatetaan nykyään lähinnä omaan tarpeeseen. Siinä olisi iskun paikka lännelle.
