Panssarivaunut

Yhdysvallat muuttaa kaksi jalkaväkiprikaatia panssariprikaateiksi, yksi panssariprikaati tulee olemaan jatkuvasti sijoitettuna Puolaan.

Toki on pirteitäkin harvoja poikeuksia löytyy - mm. Puola. Ja eipä Suomellakaan heikosti mun mielestä mene, otetaan huomioon Suomen valtion väkiluku, ja silti meillä on ihan kelpo Puolustusvoimat.

Ihan mielenkiinnosta kysyn, mitkä jalkaväkiprikaatit US Army muuttaa Panssariprikaateiksi?

BAE Systems to provide active protection for Dutch CV90 vehicles
http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Se...1482512362/?spt=rec_feat&or=2&r=4921482509982
LONDON, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- BAE Systems has received a contract to test and verify active protection systems on CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles for the government of the Netherlands.

The CV90 is an armored vehicle initially developed for the Swedish Army in the early 1990s, and is currently in service with armed forces in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Switzerland. The contract would effectively make the Dutch CV90 the first NATO combat vehicle to receive active protection.

Active protection is a capability affording warfighters defense against rocket-propelled grenades, anti-tank missiles, and similar threats. Under the contract with the Netherlands, BAE Systems engineers will provide these defenses by installing Iron Fist, an automated system that uses radar to detect, track and ultimately eliminate threats.

"Iron Fist will give the Dutch Army a highly sophisticated defensive tool on its CV90s to counter threats and improve the safety of the vehicle and its crew," BAE Systems' Tommy Gustafsson-Rask explained in a press release. "Iron Fist is yet another example of the advanced technology BAE Systems and its partners can deliver to our customers."

Dutch defense officials say the effort will pre-qualify the active system alongside industry partners prior to integration.

"We expect to make a decision on the next phase by early 2018. With Iron Fist, the Netherlands is expected to become the first NATO country with an Active Protection System of its kind on combat vehicles," Netherlands Defense Materiel Organization project manager Hans de Goeij added.

Modernization in 2018

ORP Ślązak (241)
The Polish Navy is undergoing a full modernization. Initially planned as a 9 billion zloty project, the budget was reduced to 5 billion zloty which caused project delays and cancellations over the allotted time 2010 - 2018. . The latest strategy for the navy considers larger warships as unsuitable for the Baltic Sea, however one Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate will be upgraded to extend its operation life beyond 2020. 12 new ships worth around 10 billion PLN are to be acquired before 2026. This include three Coastal Defence Vessel, code name Miecznik with displacement of 1900 tons, three patrol/mine countermeasure vessel, code name Czapla. Three new submarines are planned with first delivery in 2017, second submarine until 2022 and third by 2030. Also three Kormoran 2-class minehunters are planned. Meanwhile, to reduce costs, serving vessels will be upgraded and overhauled to maintain operational status. Concerns have been risen about the Polish Navy, as more vessels are being withdrawn from service without being replaced in the near future. With the increased tension in the area surrounding Poland, plans have been put in place to potentially procure up to 3 new submarines with cruise missile launch capability. The cruise missiles carried are planned to have an 800 km range.

The Polish Navy has already acquired 36 Swedish RBS15 Mk3. and 48 Norwegian Naval Strike Missiles for vessels and coastal defence units. It is planned to reinforce the Navy's helicopter fleet by eight ASW and six SAR units. The Gawron-class corvettes program has been cancelled with sole surviving unit to be built as a patrol vessel.[5] On 2 July 2015 ORP Ślązak was christened during official launching ceremony, becoming the first new Polish-built Navy ship in 21 years. In June 2013 the Coastal Missile Division (NDR) equipped initially with 12 Naval Strike Missiles and two TRS-15C radars achieved initial readiness.

Poland had not purchased any new combat aircraft and only managed to acquire further MiG-29s from the Czech Republic in 1995 and from Germany in 2004. MiG-21s were finally withdrawn from service in 2003. In 2004, the only remaining combat aircraft flown by the WLiOP were the MiG-29 and the Su-22. As of 2010, the fleet of Su-22s is in need of modernization to retain any value as a combat aircraft and its future is unclear.

F-16 D block 52+ "Hawk" Multirole Fighter

In 2002, the F-16C/D Block 52+ from the American company Lockheed Martin was chosen as a new multirole fighter for the WLiOP, the first deliveries taking place in November 2006 and continued until 2008 under Peace Sky program. As of 2011 the Polish Air Force have three squadrons of F-16s: two stationed at the 31st Tactical Air Base near Poznań and the 10th Tactical Squadron at the 32nd Air Base near Łask. The acquisition of the US F-16 was not without fierce competition from European aerospace companies; the sale was hotly pursued by the French company Dassault, with their Mirage 2000 and by the Swedish company Saab, with the JAS 39 Gripen. The Polish Block 52+ F-16s are equipped with the latest Pratt and Whitney F-100-229 afterburning turbofan engines, and the avionics suite includes the APG-68(V)9 terrain mapping radar system and the ALQ-211(V)4 electronic warfare suite. All Polish F-16s can carry modern US precision ordnance, ranging from the JDAM/JSOW to the latest in export-certificate-authorized air-to-air weaponry (including the AIM-120C-5 and AIM-9X).

As the aftermath of the presidential Tu-154 crash in 2010 and later Polish investigation the 36th Special Aviation Regiment, responsible for transporting the President and the Polish Government, was disbanded, all officials flights are carried by two LOT Polish Airlines Embraer E-175. A new unit - 1st Air Base that replaced the 36th regiment, operates the VIP helicopters for domestic transport. On 14 November 2016 Defense Ministry signed the deal to buy two Gulfstream G550 VIP planes. Another two medium-size VIP airliners for 65 passengers is being procured under separate tender.[8]

On 27 February 2014 Poland signed a €280 million contract with Alenia Aermacchi for 8 M-346 Master advanced training jet.[9][10] First two Masters arrived in Poland accompanied by Team Iskry on November 14, 2016.

On 11 December 2014 Polish officials signed a contract with the United States for the purchase of 44 AGM-158 Joint Air to Surface Stand off Missile, for $250 million USD. Also contained in the contract are upgrades to the fleet of Polish F-16s to be completed by Lockheed Martin

Tarvitseeko edes vaivautua kysyn vaan.
