Let's say something about Finland. No more crew are trained for T-55 but its still as wartime equipment for supporting infantry. Moderdisation to T-55M made it pretty accurate tank. T-55 based bridge layers / mine sweepers allthough are still in use
didn't serve as a tanker, (a long range recon radioman, NCO), but I heard that they still have T-55s more or less disassembled in storage, which could be quickly prepared to be ready for use in crisis

Even today i think that the T-64 would have a better potential for upgrades then the T-72, it was superior in basically every regard. And it not only had superior Firecontrol and armour compared to the T-72, it also had a superior autoloader.
Yep. The T64 was developed before the T72. And it had superior armor, superior Fire control sytems, nightvision, gun, Crew layout, autoloader.. And so on and so on. Russia still holds 4000 T-64's in there arsenals and there are plannes for them
