Last night there was another air and missile attack on Ukraine.
On this occasion, a small graphic presentation regarding the announced transfer of Swedish AWACS, i.e. Saab 340 AEW&C, to the UKR SZ and what a revolution these machines will be, operating even in deep areas.
-
What you see are 2 maps superimposed on each other.
The first one presents the approximate routes of Russian missiles and their targets, the second one shows the approximate range of target observation using the PS-890 Erieye radar of the Swedish AWACS.
-
A few details, the PS-890 Erieye station operates in the S band and has an instrumental range of 370 km for SOP purposes of a "tactical fighter", in the case of CM this range would probably be slightly smaller.
The suspension height of this radar in the application is 8 km.
-
The application shows a 360-degree field of observation, but in reality it would be "cut out" by the fact that the Swedish radar has "dead sectors" of observation at the front and rear of the machine.
-
The most important place of calculation is a space somewhere between Vinnytsia, Bila Tserkva and Uman, away from any piece of Russian territory or territory occupied by Russia by at least 250 km, i.e. + - the declared kinematic range of the R-37 MiG-31 missiles.
-
In other words, a "relatively" safe place both in the context of the distant hands of Russian MiGs and the long-range missiles of the S-400 systems.
At the same time, as can be seen in the graphic below, they are almost IN THE ROUTE of a large part of the Russian cruise missiles.
-
It is difficult to describe the combination of such threat detection capabilities with an F-16 squadron with anti-tank missiles directed at these threats by Erieye as anything other than a revolution.
Profit? IMO, there are dozens of radars and air defense systems that can be moved to defend troops.
-
If the Erieyes reach Ukraine relatively quickly (this is a question mark) and are used together with the F-16 in such highly defensive tasks, the effect may not be spectacular, but in my opinion it may bring about a small revolution in terms of freeing a large part of the ground air defense forces for other tasks
-
One more note here.
IF the Ukrainian F-16s received information directly through data exchange systems not only from Ukrainian but also from NATO AWACS, then...
I will leave the conclusions to you ;-)
