Russia said it refuses to provide consular services Crimean director Oleg Sentsov due to the fact that it was granted Russian citizenship.
A briefing on Thursday said the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska transmit "Ukrainian News".
"In response, I received from the Ombudsman of consular services from the Ukrainian side Sentsov director was not provided. Answer my Russian side argued that Sentsov automatically, involuntarily, automatically been granted Russian citizenship," - she said.
According Lutkovska, according to Russian legislation the adoption of Russian citizenship to residents of the unrecognized republic of Crimea happens automatically if the citizen is not a statement that his reluctance to get Russian citizenship.
The Ombudsman noted that in case of non-resident citizenship was required to apply in person at one of 4 dedicated for this item in the Crimea.
"If a person was in prison, as was the Sentsov he physically could not do it," - said Lutkovska.
The Ombudsman said that the Russian side considers Sentsov as a citizen and therefore refuses to provide him consular services from the Ukraine.
Lutkovska added that once again turned to the Ombudsman of Elah Pamfilova requesting a meeting with Sentsov and three detained citizens of Ukraine by Russia, as well as ensure compliance with the request of their rights and freedoms.
As reported Sentsov said the protest against the fact that Russia is trying to deprive him of Ukrainian citizenship.
"I want to express protest against the attempts of depriving me citizenship of Ukraine, because I was and remain a citizen of Ukraine. Slave I do not, I can not throw with land in citizenship. Applications No I did not write about getting Russian citizenship and non-Ukrainian" - said the director.
As you know, Sentsov was detained by the FSB of Russia on 11 May in the Crimea.
According to the FSB, the director was a member of subversive and terrorist groups "right market" that allegedly planning attacks in the Crimea, in particular in Simferopol, Yalta and Sevastopol.
Sentsov faces up to 20 years in prison. Counsel directed earlier reported that Crimean prison ward tortured him.
