The State Duma at the plenary session of the chamber on Wednesday, July 19, will consider in the first reading a bill on the right of the Russian Guard to have military, including heavy, equipment in service. This decision was made by the Duma Council at a meeting on Monday, a source in the chamber's apparatus told TASS.
"The Council of the Duma included in the agenda of the plenary session on July 19 a bill on the transfer of heavy equipment to the Russian Guard," the source said.
We are talking about the bill, which was introduced to the chamber by a group of deputies of the State Duma earlier on Monday. The initiative was initiated by the chairmen of three committees of the chamber: on defense - Andrey Kartapolov, on security - Vasily Piskarev, on information policy - Alexander Khinshtein. Amendments are being made to the law "On the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation."
The document proposes to change the term "weapon" used in the law to the term "weapon", which refers to the totality of weapons and technical means of their use. In addition, according to the text of the law, it is also proposed to replace the term "combat equipment" with the term "military equipment", which implies various technical means of equipping troops for combat and daily activities.
The law also proposes to prescribe that members of the National Guard troops have the right to use physical force, special means, weapons, as well as military and special equipment. In particular, the National Guard will be able to use such equipment to free hostages, protect citizens, officials and military personnel, ensure security during riots and in emergency situations, stop the vehicle if the driver refuses to stop, as well as to suppress the activities of illegal armed groups, suppress resistance armed persons refusing to comply with legal requirements to stop the movement of unmanned aerial vehicles.
