Vodka sales in Russian stores fell by 4.5% over the first nine months.
At the end of the first nine months, 54.46 million decaliters (dal) of vodka were sold at retail in Russia. This is 4.5% less than in the same period in 2024, according to Rosalkogoltobakkontrol.
Cognac sales fell 9.7%, to 9.29 million dal. A total of 88.16 million dal of spirits with an ABV greater than 9% were sold from January to September. This is a 2.1% decrease year-on-year, according to Interfax.
Wine sales also declined. Wine sales fell 3.1% to 42.37 million decaliters, sparkling wines (Champagne) sales fell 6.2% to 14.77 million decaliters, and liqueur wines fell 11.1% to 877,800 decaliters.
In total, alcoholic beverages (excluding beer, cider, perry, and mead) were sold in the first nine months of the year at 150.72 million decaliters, down 12% from the previous year. Beer sales also declined.
