First of all, the short entry into the air space of Turkey of one of the Russian aircraft in the Syrian Arab Republic should be commented on.
On Saturday, October 3, of the scheduled combat flight while maneuvering over the mountainous and forest areas for returning to the Hmeymim airfield, the Russian aircraft Su-30 performed a short (for several seconds) entry into the air space of Turkey.
After the check and analysis of the objective monitoring data, the command of the Aerospace Forces’ air grouping in Syria has taken necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in future.
The Turkish party was sent relevant clarifications through the Office of the Military Attaché at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow.
Hmeymim airbase is situated 30 km from the Syrian-Turkish border. Under certain climate conditions, the approach is carried out from the north.
That is why this occurrence is the consequence of unfavorable weather conditions in this region. There are no conspiratorial reasons to look for.
As to the information concerning the pursuit of Turkish aircraft by an unidentified MiG-29 fighter – it has no relevance to the Russian air grouping.
There are no aircraft of such type at the Hmeymim airbase.
