Physical Logic, a leader in high-precision open and closed-loop MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) accelerometers for the security, defense, energy, industrial, and healthcare markets, introduces its next-generation inertial grade closed loop MEMS accelerometers, the MAXL-CL-3000 Family, at DSEI. The company’s groundbreaking advances deliver exceptional short-term and long-term performance, comparable to Navigation Grade electromechanical quartz accelerometers.
Physical Logic is the first company in the world to market a closed-loop Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) accelerometer that rivals very high precision electromechanical quartz accelerometers. These accelerometers provide highly accurate measurements at a lower cost as well as reduced weight and size.
North finding and inertial navigation applications are enabled by a major improvement in warmup performance that achieves time-to-full-performance in less than 2 seconds, with typical bias drifts of < 30 µg during the first 5 hours of operation. In addition, a wide range of aerial missions can be integrated due to a reduction in noise specification limits.
According to Ms. Katja Beyer, the company’s CEO, “We are proud to be the first company to introduce to the navigation market to a closed-loop MEMS accelerometer with bias-related parameters comparable to Tactical Grade and scale factor-related parameters comparable to Navigation Grade electromechanical quartz accelerometers. “We met and surpassed our major technological targets upgrading all MAXL-CL-3030 bias-related parameters (30g sensing range closed loop MEMS accelerometer) as well as developing 2 new products, 15g (MAXL-CL-3015) and 50g (MAXL-CL-3050) sensing range accelerometers, for the MAXL-CL-3000 family.”
Physical Logic Ltd. is a privately-held Israeli company with a state-of-the-art R&D, manufacturing and testing facility in Petach Tikva, Israel. The company develops and manufactures high-precision open loop and closed loop MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) accelerometers. Its meters have a wide range of applications, including inertial navigation, vibration, tilt, and seismic sensing. Diverse markets are served, including security and defense, energy, industry, and healthcare. Physical Logic’s open-loop MEMS accelerometers are differentiated by their extremely high linearity, ultra-low noise, and excellent long-term stability providing a measurable advance over the performance of currently available Tactical Grade MEMS accelerometers. Its flagship closed-loop MEMS accelerometer product line brings performance to a level comparable with currently available mechanical accelerometers.
