"We are offering all the citizens of the former Ukraine a way out of the war. This is the country’s re-establishment.
This solution is peaceful. But it may only be actualized under several conditions," said Alexander Zakharchenko, the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
"Firstly, citizens of the former Ukraine should themselves support us. Here I should say that we have already held consultations with adequate representatives of business and authoritative bodies of some regions and they did agree with us. And we will continue such consultations. Secondly, this solution is possible only if the global community, its part involved in the conflict, supports our idea and acts as a mediator," he continued.
"Herewith, only international players are those institutions capable of keeping Kiev from drowning Donbass in blood in response to our peaceful proposal. I hope that western politicians have still preserved some sense of honour and consciousness (though, frankly speaking, I doubt it) and they will not exchange their vested interests for tens of thousands of innocent lives. Thus, this proposal is for citizens of the former Ukraine and politicians of Europe and the United States of America," Zakharchenko said.
"I would like to say that this is not only the first our proposal, but, at that, the last one. I repeat: the last one. It is backed not only by our Armed Forces, but also our will to victory," he concluded.
